Pope Francis to Retire? What to Do With Three Popes?

Well, I was saying just the other day that I thought the Cardinals are about ready to overthrow their
purported leader. They probably have had enough of his horrible antics and evil statements.
There is another shocking one on tradition-in-action which i did happen to see regarding Francis' almost perverted way of speaking.

Then after I had that feeling that Cardinals and other forces are ready to get rid of this abject devil came the news that the Pope had disclosed that he might possibly retire....one can imagine it would not be by own choice. Let's hope the retirement occurs next week ! Better, tomorrow....

I only saw a glimpse of a headline about a fire at Bethlehem ; had no idea about this unbelievable timing.

That is a mufti or some type of Islamic cleric on Pope Francis' left side, by the way, I believe.
Unless rabbis wear more elaborate attire than usual these days.
That's incredible about the hiding of his pectoral cross ! Shameful.

You are more optomistic than I am...I think the Cardinals( who elected him) agree with everything he says and does.

He was just elected 13 March, 2013. That is slightly more than one year. What are popes made of lately ... with the backbone of a chocolate eclair?

Remember, they would only show a public face of unity and smiling.
Behind the scenes, they are mostly livid, one would think, that this "Pope" is tearing the Catholic Church into
shreds. Anyone would be infuriated at all that he has done and said.

So, this news item about his retirement did not seemingly attract a lot of attention, and it quickly disappeared.
But I think Francis was putting out a statement to gauge what the reaction would be.
I think he already made up his mind to retire, eclair-spined, though he may seem - !!

Isn't it true that Roman Catholics believe that Popes are preserved from error? That "nobody judges the Pope?" If so, to grumble against him is forbidden.

No, no, Lydia. Only the Pope's ex-cathedra pronouncements are considered by Catholics to be infallible.
Not every word he breathes ! This Pope's outrageous actions and bizarre un-Pope-like behavior MUST HAVE angered many
Cardinals. Remember that he was not even a frontrunner for the office, and probably many Cardinals were not pleased but
put on forced weak smiles due to the overwhelming accolades and attention by the worldwide media on this particular character. Perhaps they rationalized that the Catholic Church was getting some positive attention for a big change.
Some Cardinals may have hesitated to rock the boat by complaining.
But if you look back at the history of pre-Vatican II Papacy, many, many powerful Cardinals like Cardinal Tisserant of France never bothered to conceal their loathing of the very traditional Pope Pius XII. Cardinal Tisserant practically glowered and
almost swore at the Pope in the latter's presence ! So behind closed doors, some are not shy to growl - and loudly !
Other Cardinals were alienated by Pius XII's aloofness and mystical approach. He liked time by himself and though he worked hard on writing his speeches, once delivered, he wanted to go back and listen to classical music or pray or walk in the Vatican gardens by himself, or with close aides. Cardinals of the era did more than grumble that they were never consulted by their former Secretary of State, whom they had joyously elevated to the Papacy. They were not able to see him or express their opinions. Only brazen ones like Cardinal Tisserant forced their way into the Papal presence.
So if this disunity of opinion over a Pope was boiling during the Papacy's greatest days in the past century, what about now
with this imposter whom surely the Cardinals see through much more easily than outsiders ? I bet nearly all are disgruntled if not up in arms !

Isn't there an additional belief, however, that the Pope can never be a formal heretic? I.e. not everything he says must be believed as a doctrine necessary for salvation, but at the same time, nothing he says can contradict any doctrine necessary for salvation. That's why Catholic apologists spend so much time arguing that Pope Honorius was not a Monothelete.
