This last Sunday was one that will be well remembered in the history of the struggle of Orthodox Christians in the Greater Toronto Area to uphold the Faith of our Fathers. Fr. Sergius and the parishioners of the parish of Saint Joseph of Arimathea were blessed with the first ordination in the history of the parish.
His Eminence, Metropolitan Moses. ordained Fr. George Kourous to the Holy Diaconate on the Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the First Ecumenical Council. Fr. George grew up in the parish of Saint Nektarios and under the guidance of his parents was nurtured in the Faith. Fr. George and his wife Dragina have laboured with love for many years at Saint Joseph's. Under the guidance of Fr. Sergius, Fr, Geoge advanced in his zeal to serve the Church.
All of us in Toronto rejoice and look forward to having Fr. George in the rank of Toronto's shepherds.
