GMO Corn research paper retracted. Research claims innocence

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

GMO Corn research paper retracted. Research claims innocence

Post by Maria »

  • The paper, from a research group led by Gilles-Eric Séralini, a molecular biologist at the University of Caen, France, and published in 2012, showed “no evidence of fraud or intentional misrepresentation of the data”, said a statement from Elsevier, which publishes the journal. ...

The study found that rats fed for two years with Monsanto’s glyphosate-resistant NK603 maize (corn) developed many more tumours and died earlier than controls. It also found that the rats developed tumours when glyphosate (Roundup), the herbicide used with GM maize, was added to their drinking water. (See 'Rat study sparks GM furore').

As claimed by Monsanto supporters, even if the rats used in this study were more susceptible to tumors, their controls (same strain of rat) did not develop as many turmors and lived longer. However, it is known that some humans are more genetically disposed to cancer and disease. If these susceptible individuals were to eat Monsanto GMO products and/or drink tap water contaminated with Roundup, it is highly likely that they also would have more pervasive tumors and a shorter lifespan than normal controls. Does Monsanto even care about these people?

I hope that this research scientist can do another study using a different strain of rats, but undoubtedly, his reputation has been permanently tarnished by those who support Monsanto. What a shame! I am outraged.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.
