Autism: Study finds gut microbe helps behavioral problems

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

Autism: Study finds gut microbe helps behavioral problems

Post by Maria »

  • Doses of a human gut microbe helped to reverse behavioral problems in mice with autism-like symptoms, researchers report today in Cell. The treatment also reduced gastrointestinal problems in the animals that were similar to those that often accompany autism in humans.

Would yogurt or probiotics help those afflicted with autism?

Is autism genetic or is it caused by something in our environment?

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Maria,

I always suspected that there is a sort of correlation between autism and vaccination.
Please read here:

Japanese & British Data Show Vaccines Cause Autism
Just months following the US Court of Federal Claims rejection of the claim that the MMR vaccine causes autism, here you will see data from formal peer refereed medical papers showing that vaccines caused autism in British and in Japanese children and will be doing the same to children around the world. The number of Japanese children developing autism rose and fell in direct proportion to the number of children vaccinated each year:-

Yes, that makes sense about the correlation.

I suspect, though, that autism is a spiritually-inflicted mental illness.
That is to say that God arranges that the circumstances are such that
the offspring become autistic.

I might add that it is a terrible cross to bear, for my best friend from high school
had twins and the girl is autistic. The trials that my former friend described sounded
horrendous.
The boy is at Yale [or may have graduated by now] and is really brilliant.
The girl of the pair was terribly afflicted : unable to do anything for herself.

So I believe it may be about the particular soul - OR something to do with belief in God
and so many factors that none but God would know.

To sum up, I think that external factors are not the most crucial ones, but
spiritual factors hold the hidden reason why this tragic condition appears

PS - my friend and her husband helped originate a new approach to the care of
autistic adults who have to leave the family nest. If anyone is interested,
send me a PM and I can give information about that very successful new project.
I wouldn't put it here publicly, of course, to protect the family's privacy.

I have read quite a few studies on autism and asperger's syndrome. Brain scans show that people with autism spectrum disorder (including Asperger's) have abnormalities, so this condition is not a spiritual condition. Effectively, the brain is incorrectly wired.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.
