Secondly, I have corresponded with His Grace Gregory and he is truly a righteous Hierarch and a true lover of souls.

Same reason Nick gave -- funny how this appears to be a major reason that someone chooses to join this schism. It is obvious that this is simply a Cult of Personality.

Umm no, I did not Thomas, but thanks for putting words in my mouth. AlaskanOrthodox is not ROAC btw. Neither are many of the other people defending my choice to join ROAC, which is definitely not a cult. I did not join it because of the personalities of my bishops, but as I said before a big, in-depth post is coming soon on this.

Sure you did Nick. Your post announcing your decision was all about how you spoke to him on the phone and how great a guy he was. That's when you began to fall under his spell.

Umm no. I had spoken to Bishop Gregory a grand total of two times before I decided to join ROAC and I did not join based on these discussions. Again, you are reading into things and reading them wrong.

In 2 posts at my blog I described the meeting between myself and Father Dionysi and the one where I met Bishop Gregory, I did not get in to the reasons I joined ROAC. That post is still forthcoming and will be much larger than either of those postings.

Here is my original post on joining ROAC for those wondering what Thomas is speaking of:

Nicholas wrote:

I was going to announce it on the Sunday of Orthodoxy, as that seemed fitting, but someone is going around telling people about this in a way to try and cause scandal, so I will announce it now.

After much prayer and discernment, including studying the issues from both sides of the table, going as far as to ask the ROCOR synod for ukazes and the like, my family has decided to join ROAC.

I have moved to Colorado and am helping build up a mission church here. Originally I was going to be transfered by my job but within days of my move my boss' bosses decided against it, and just yesterday I found a new job to supplement the jobs that my old work has given me to do for direct pay.

Unfortunately there are people trying to ruin our Great Lent by attacking us for this decision, so I ask your prayers for us. Thank you in advance.

I would not attack you for this decision, but if you would strive in public for the souls of others you should not think it strange that others might not strive as well for yours. Strange things happen about you and are seemingly done in your name, and is it surprising that they are remarked upon? Strange things happen about Gregory of Colorado and are done in his name and in the name of his master, and should it then be surprising that even a latitudinarian such as myself is wary of him?
