I agree with what I have read so far, so what should I do now? The only Church in town is a Greek Orthodox Church. The nearist ROCOR Church is about 1 hour away but I have no way of getting their... Should I remain outside of the Church?

Despite some issues with the GOA it is perfectly fine to enter Orthodoxy via it. I strongly agree with all of Justin's points yet am myself GOA. Where I am the GOA is the traditionalist church because of Saint Anthony's monastery and the lack of other Orthodox jurisdictions.

There are traditionalist OCA, Greek, and Antiochian parishes out there. You just have to find them. I go to an OCA church that is more traditional than most out there. I would not remain outside church Gideon. Don't despair about what people say on discussions boards. Justin points are valied, yet Nektarios and I are both examples of people who attend traditional Orthodox churches that not a part of ROCOR.

I don't think I can remain outside the Church. I long to be apart of the Church. The local Greek Church is very friendly and are conservative.

Gideon, I'd say go with the Greek Church, then. /\ :)

Nektarios, can you ask me that question after Lent? ;) (if not, here's a clue, do a Google search on "Ivan the Terrible" and "Rasputin," that will most likely lead you in the right direction)

Thanks for the hint...it'll be an interstesting discussion after Lent.

Is the papal calendar the same as the secular calendar?
