let's see...

Original post date = Sunday the 15th...

Pictures thereof added Wednesday the 19th...

Hence the pictues are of an event that has already occured.

?

I've never heard of pictures of an event that hasn't occured- unless, of course, you're dealing with those new time travel pictures?

Am I missing something here? My question was...he was made a schemamonk on the day of his tonsure into monasticism?

That was my point. It is not surprising he was made a schemamonk because he was a priest for 25 years.

Yeah, nothing in roac is surprising anymore.

Definition of the Great Schema from the OCA:

The final rank of the monastic order is that of the great schema. This last step is reserved for very few, since it is the expression of the most strict observance of the monastic ideals, demanding normally a state of life in total seclusion in perpetual prayer and contemplation. With this final profession a new name is again received, and a new monastic insignia -- the great schema -- is worn.

Well he was already an archpriest as it was, so he was just below schema. If you want to know why however, perhaps you should write them.

But ROAC obviously did not recognize him as an Archpriest considering they chrismated him! By receiving someone into your church in that way you are in effect saying that you were formerly not an Orthodox Christian. People who aren't Orthodox Christians are not "Archpriests".

Well schismatics are chrismated, so that means they recognize that he was Orthodox at one time. And he is (or was) listed in the ROAC directory as an Archpriest or Protopresbyter. Anyway I would tend to agree with Juvenaly, if you have questions why not ask the schema monk himself?

Why not ask?
Because the situation doesn't warrant a real "investigation". The answers seem quite obvious to me. If I were to directly ask every vagante orthodox group for their raison d'etre and justification for performing certain actions I would either burn my eyes out at the terminal writing emails, or waste forests of perfectly good trees writing letters.
