Fr Siluan,
Glad to see you are OK and in good health, I hope.
Yes ! Good thought ! I have not been there SINCE the union, so I didn't have that chance to
say "I am in RTOC". I was only there in the middle 1990s. Not after.
It was about the time of the MP takeover of the monastery in Hebron.
Some pasluzhniks at one podvorie got really angry when told I was from Rocor.
They started shouting and looking threatening.
All the MP priests were apparently TOLD to sign a petition AGAINST Rocor and in favor of MP's
actions there. One priest I met said he refused to sign it, but looked cowed and
confided that was huge pressure put upon him to do so.
This is how the MP REALLY thinks about Rocor !
Alexander,
OH ! Now I know what you mean by that style of helmet.
It's the type we see in statues of Prince Yuri Dolgoruky for example.
Very interesting for me to see this connection that you have highlighted.
They changed everything else : why keep the helmet style, even if of fabric
instead of steel ?!
Well, what do you think concerning St John ? When it became known to them that he
bravely stood up against the spring 1946 ukaze of his superior, Abp Victor of Peking, removing him from his see, did the
presentday MP personnel start to demote him on the scale
of Saints ? Is that why they are indifferent to him at this point then ? It was
maybe a temporary interest UNTIL they found out his TRUE character ?
I remember being so glad to hear this [probably MUCH SUPPRESSED INFORMATION !]
that St John publicly rejected the new "Patriarch" Alexey I.
Archbishop John declared the election of Alexey I to have been uncanonical.
Viewing a film on the supposed election,
St John afterward strongly stated his loyalty to his Rocor Synod.
Let THAT go forth to the halls of the MP to jar them !
