I've skimmed very quickly through the previous commentaries. Very quickly.

The original question was when St. Seraphim comes to us...what jurisdiction will he be with?

He will have the answer in showing us where the true church of Christ is.
Because he will be with the true church, since he has come from the heavenly church. helllooo. This is a saint who will come from heaven!

I don't know about anyone else here, but I will certainly follow the path of the true church that St. Seraphim of Sarov points out.

Alexy II sends greetings to St Seraphim festivities in Kursk

MOSCOW, July 20 (Itar-Tass) - Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexy II has sent greetings to the pilgrims, Church and secular officials participating in the festivities in the city of Kursk, 500 km south off Moscow, on the occasion of the 250th anniversary since the birth of the St Seraphim of Sarov.

One of the most venerated Russian saints, he had a secular given name of Prokhor and was born into the family of simple Russian people, residents of Kursk. He also spent his green years there.

About 20,000 pilgrims gathered in Kursk Tuesday to commemorate the date and join a procession with the saint’s relics, specially brought to the city from a monastery in the Nizhny Novgorod region on the Volga.

Alexy II recalls in his letter of greetings to the festivities that the worldwide congregation of Russian Orthodox Christians celebrated a centenary date since Reverend Seraphim’s canonization last year.

“That event united the Church and society, the spiritual and clerical authorities, regional governors and the bishops of regional dioceses, clerics and simple pilgrims,” says the letter.

During his whole life, St Seraphim displayed a special gift of sharing merciful spirit and Christian love with everyone, Alexy II says.

“Since the days of his earthy life, St Seraphim remains merciful and ready to help the ones calling for his assistance,” the letter says.

Alexy II draws special attention to the fact that the saint’s relics have been brought for this special occasion to his native city. St Seraphim is visiting the place of his birth, revealing the praise of the Holy Spirit to everyone who accedes the shroud with his relics,he indicates.

“People are coming in endless flows day and night to venerate St Seraphim’s holy relics and get recovery from spiritual and bodily torments,” Alexy II says.

CHURCH AND SECULAR TOP TO JOIN HANDS IN SAINTS' WORSHIP: KIRIENKO

MOSCOW, June 15 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Academy of Sciences hosted a conference today on the 250th birth anniversary of St. Seraphim of Sarov, prophetic monk and one of Russia's best-worshipped saints.

Sergei Kirienko, presidential envoy plenipotentiary to federal district Volga, and once Russia's youngest Premier, addressed the gathering as celebration committee co-chair. He called secular authorities to join hands with the Church and together take stock of Russian saints' spiritual heritage.

"Worthy to appear on today's conference agenda must be a quest for such forms of Church-State teamwork that would get it on a permanent footing, while now we such teamwork is going on by fits and starts to stop in between jubilees.

"National celebrations were arranged on the Seraphim canonisation centenary, and his birth anniversary galas. Those efforts were not retrospective-they oriented on this day. The two events brought the Church and secular authorities together to open new vistas for their partnership. There are vast prospects for education, influence on media outlets, and the cause of introducing morals in the economy.

"This noble work is for Russia's future. That point became clear in the St. Seraphim celebrations. The human intellect and stamina are central pillars of economic success, and man can make no progress unless he has spiritual values to rely on. That was the main lesson the celebrations taught us," said Mr. Kirienko.

St Seraphim anniversary celebrations begin in Diveyevo, Russia
http://www.itar-tass.com/eng/level2.htm ... &PageNum=0

31.07.2004, 09.27

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, July 31 (Itar-Tass) - The main celebrations of the 250th anniversary since the birthday of St. Seraphim of Sarov begin on Saturday in the village of Diveyevo, the Nizhny Novgorod region, which has become Russia's spiritual capital for these days.

The central event will be consecration of the Kazan Church reconstructed from the ruins. It is the site of the Seraphim Diveyevo monastery where the earthly remains of the Saint are kept at present.

It is a great day for Orthodox believers.

The Kazan Church always had a special significance in Russian religion history.

Head of the Diveyevo monastery Alexandra settled at the site and founded the church there. Mother of God appeared before her and said the prophetic words that she would found a monastery for women there by Alexandra' hands.

Seraphim of Sarov actively helped the Kazan Church and the monastery. Though his life was solitary there, the old man was not indifferent to such events as Napoleon's intrusion in Russia. The Sarov hermitage and the monastery provided shelter and food for many refugees from Moscow and regions occupied by French troops. Thankful letters from saved people are kept in the St. Trinity Seraphim Diveyevo monastery.

The church was completely destroyed in 1927 and reconstructed only in 2004.

The earthly remains of the Seraphim of Sarov, which had been lost, returned to the monastery.

Patriarchal Exarch of all Belarus, Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk Philaret will consecrate the church.

Metropolitan of Krutitsy and Kolomna Juvenaly and 15 Russian Orthodox Church hierarchy clergymen will participate in the ceremony.
