St Tikhon of Zadonsk writes in "Journey to Heaven"

The ungodly who did not believe the preaching of righteous Noah on repentance were drowned by flooding. What, then, should the present-day ungodly and revilers and scorners of the Law of God expect? They too shall be submerged in the most terrible flood of eternal perdition.Fire from Heaven consumed the Sodomites for their abominable impurity. What then should the present-day fornicators and adulterers and other defilers expect, but the fire of Gehenna in which they shall burn forever, yet not be consumed?

This very stark teaching addresses all who would practice all unlawful sexual sins; first addressing those who would practice homosexual acts, but then goes on in equally uncomprising terms to address those who would commit fornication (sex before marriage) and adultery (sex outside marriage).

Temptations are not sins, entertaining them or surrendering to them are. As to the whole concept of people calling themselves homosexuals or heterosexuals, is this a Christian concept or something that belongs to the foolishness of this world?

Dear Artemon

there is a very long and detailed book on the Church fathers teachings on homosexuality

Could you tell us what this book is and who wrote it?

Thank you.

not even kissing

RRRRONG! :P

Canon 11 of St. John the Faster does say that a man and a woman who aren't married sin when they engage in "kissing" and "touching". This means that the only type of kiss which is sinful outside wedlock is the kiss whose purpose is sexual stimulation. It's absolutely OK for a boy to kiss his girlfriend in the mouth, as long as that doesn't increase their sex drive!

Well your kind of right and kind of wrong 1.a boyor full grown male can kiss his friend who happens to be his friend on the Cheek in either the Christian Kiss of Peace or just a normal greeting kiss on the CHEEK only, 2. In Orthodox Christianity noone is supposed to have girlfriends or boyfriends in the way the WORLD has girl/boy friends, plus kissing on the mouth is wrong also, if your gong to respond back to what I wrote and say the usual things that are/have been said in the 20th/21 century (there's nothing wrong with haveing boy friends/girlfriends my priest says it's o.k. I can tell you right away thats wrong and your priest is wrong and I'll debate him on and off this site any time any place any were, and I will bring the writings of the Church Fathers hammer away so much at his (the Priest) teaching that he will openly declare "who cares what the Fathers of the Church think" then you'll know his true mind set and why he teaches this. most Bishops how teach this also are MASONS and the reall reason they've been teaching all this un traditional teachings (I don't have to say any names) is because they're slowly preparing thier flocks for the " 8th False Ecumenical Council " to unite all religions (not just the Paypist Church and Protestant Churches but also Islam Judism and the other pagan religions) which has been Prophecied by St.Nilus The Myrrh Gusher

Didn't you read what I wrote? It's OK to have a boyfriend/girlfriend and to kiss him/her on the mouth. What's NOT OK is to have sex with this boyfriend/girfriend(fornication) or to kiss him sexually on the mouth(danger of falling into the sin of fornication) before marriage.
