The True terrorists?

Post by Bogatyr »

:ohvey: I think when we read such statements from people condemning others for standing for Orthodoxy, we understand many things. Firstly, we know they support freedom of conscience for heterodox bodies and support ecumenical concession for them. Secondly, we know that these are the same types of people who would have used coercion to advance arianism, monothelitism, iconoclasm, unia--they would have been the persecutors of the Saints. How do we know this? Because their position and those they support anounces it. Then the question begged becomes: are they really ORTHODOX?!
I would reply with a resonant "NO" and add that these are "the same types of people who crucified Christ!", for they advocate crucifying His Church today...

dems vs gop

Post by Bogatyr »

:P This is off-topic.
"Con" means conservative.
The Russian/Greek/Georgian, etc. Orthodox Church should be the INDEPENDENT STATE CHURCH, funded much the way religious bodies are funded in Germany.
The dem party is NOT a place for Orthodox Christians:
1). It is militantly secular humanist: "Christmas" is abolished today because of the left and Nativity Scenes are now considered a hate crime.
2). It believes in abortion on demand.
3). It believes in homosexual rights and homosexual marriage and "unions".
4). It believes in such things as "sexual freedom" and rejects the family as the fundamental unit.
5). It promotes evolutionism.
6). It blocks the religious expression of others HENCE ENGAGES IN RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION.
For these reasons alone and THERE ARE MANY MORE, the GOP is a superior alternative where there is really nothing better.

AHEM! Everybody, let us lay off the personal attacks. There have been far too many of them in the last few days. Effective immediately I will be deleting any posts with personal attacks on any other poster, even if it is the greatest post ever. This is addressed to everyone. This place is known as a place where people can discuss traditional Orthodoxy without all the name calling and casting of personal allusions put forth by others in a mean spirit, and we will not lose that feel of a true community.

Nicholas,
If I offended anyone; I sincerely apologise.
Mr. Zollars, you did not offend me at all; in fact I thought it was funny. I assure you, I am not a Stalinist-- fascist, very much so. True fascism is a monarchy without an annointed leader, and the political/cultural opposite of Communism.
Mr. Woerl, I'm sure Rush is a nice guy, but I do not identify with global-capitalist liberals.
Every one has to make a choice regardless of what happens with the Church Abroad in the next few months. As I said earlier; these talks are long overdue and it is our mandate to reunite with the MP.
I have a question; does anyone believe that mere membership in the WCC is ecumenism?
Some seem to believe that the Russian gov still controls the Church; this is not so. In many areas of Russia, the gov has very little control of anything. I personally believe that money and capitalism/organised crime is the driving force behind the gov there; the Church is of no concern to them. If Putin uses the Church for photo-ops, who cares?
Chronicles provides some very good insight into what has been happening Russia, and the RI has no agenda with the Russian gov or the Church.

Paleocon,

Well, Soviet tactics for a Soviet "church."

Strictly speaking, what you say you desire to see happen in Russia is already happening "unofficially" - though it's typically not being done at the hands of police, but fascist thugs, or whatever cronies the MP can rile up to go burn down and otherwise vandalize (sometimes in very disturbing manners - their acts look more like what you'd expect from a satanist than you would someone with the pretense of being a Christian) ROAC Churches.

Such is the lot of martyrs in these last days, which will inevitably be worse than the situation in previous times (in particular, the well known "Roman persecutions" which went on and off for over two centuries) - for the state of the apostate, is worse than that of the pagan.

WCC?!

Post by Bogatyr »

:ohvey: I would have to say that, yes, membership in the wcc is the HERESY of ecumenism, and ROCOR is to unite with the MP inaugurated by the pan-Russian council of 1918, not the body that had the representatives of that council murdered. There definitely is no black and white here. The only mandate is looking after the best interests of the Russian Orthodox people and the Russian diasporan mission. Sadly, neither side seems too concerned with that at this point.
