Here is the reference to the aforementioned image, from the monastery's website:

Holy Monastery of Pantokrator
https://epantokrator.gr/%CE%9F-%CE%86%C ... %AE%CF%81/

The Beginningless Father, God, is depicted half-length and frontal, with a straight, stern gaze. He wears a grayish-white tunic and cloak with golden edges. His visage is stern and exudes intense spirituality. He bears a triangular halo with the inscription 'HO ON' (The Existing One). He has long white hair and a long white beard. With his right hand, he blesses, and with his left, he holds an open inscribed scroll. God the Father, in terms of the unique and metaphysical relationship of fatherhood toward His Only Begotten Son, is the first person of the Holy Trinity. From Him proceeds the Holy Spirit. God revealed Himself as the Father of Israel at the time of the Exodus, demonstrating that He is its protector.

Jay Dyer was on Tucker Carlson a week ago. The title of the program is:

"Demons in Hollywood, CIA, Secret Societies, Lone Gunmen, Epstein & Attacks on Christianity"

Despite all of Jay's knowledge, eloquence, eruditeness, etc., he still presented Orthodoxy in an incorrect manner, when he made the claim:

38:04 "We don't typically image God the Father. We think that as Jesus says in the book of John to the Pharisees, no one has seen the Father at any time."

The Orthodox Church has always accepted and approved of images of God the Father, all over the world, both in the east and the west, going back to the first millennium of Christianity and the Church.

For Jay to suggest that this is atypical and not proper, is simply a falsehood.

Folks should beware of "world Orthodox" like Jay Dyer and Fr. Peter (Heers), who teach incorrectly on this subject, (and on other subjects).

Fr. Peter (Heers) claims to have a connection and relationship with "holy elders" of our day (presumably new calendarists and "world Orthodox" elders), and one wonders, do all these elders he claims to be guided by, do they all teach the same as he does, that images of God the Father are improper, hoping they will be "set aside eventually"?

Or, is Fr. Peter just passing off his own faulty ideas, like in the case of Jay Dyer?

God the Father in Orthodox Iconography
July 31, 2021
Priest Dr. Paul Siewers
https://ecosemiotics.com/2021/07/31/god ... onography/

While the photograph of Holy Trinity Monastery's temple in Jordanville, NY (along with the accompanying description) is useful for demonstrating that ROCOR traditionally has never had any issue with depictions of the Holy Trinity, whether "Paternity" style or otherwise, the article, unfortunately, suffers from poor scholarship, containing some errors and contradictions.

Here is but one blatant example:

"St. John Damascene said at the Seventh Ecumenical Council, “We do not depict God the Father because we cannot see Him. If we could see Him, we would depict Him.”"

Is that so?! How could St. John of Damascus (+749) allegedly have said this at the Seventh Ecumenical Council, which was held nearly four decades after his death? The 7th EC was in 787, and St. John reposed in Christ 38 years prior, in 749!

This MP-ROCOR Priest Paul Siewers, was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Luke of Holy Trinity Monastery, in 2023.

Here is a better view of the fresco of the Son sitting on the Father's lap ("Paternity"/"Fatherhood"), along with the Holy Spirit, inside ROCOR's Cathedral at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville. I believe the frescoes were painted in the 1950s by Archimandrite Kyprian (Pyzhov) and his assistant, Monk Alypy (Gamanovich), later the Archbishop of Chicago.

St. Seraphim of Platina (+1982) refers to them painting images of God the Father in one of his letters:

Letters of Fr. Seraphim Rose (1961-1982)
300.
Nov. 23/Dec. 6, 1980

"I sense a danger in one of the speakers at your summer conference also—Dr. Kalomiros. He has written many good things, but he is also very narrow. The last we heard he had created a schism (with a few of his followers) from the Old Calendarists of Greece over the question of the icon of the Holy Trinity showing the Father as an old man (the kind that Bishop Alypy and Fr. Kyprian paint): anyone who venerates or even tolerates it is apparently a “heretic”! (That’s also about what Fr. Lev says.)

Here is another view inside Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, with the "New Testament Trinity" ("direct portrait type") seen over on the far right, with the Son at the right hand of the Father, with the Holy Spirit as a dove between Them.

Once again, simply right click and select "open image in new tab" to see it full size.
