Same Farohar survived the fire at Persepolis set by Alexander the Great, which ruined the Persian ceremonial capital city
This was said to have been suggested by the courtesan Thais.

But the historical record shows that Alexander had ordered the removal of the entire huge Treasury 1st.

Likely the fire was likewise planned carefully in advance by the Greeks for unknown reasons. Revenge was probably top of the list, perhaps for perceived Persian mistreatment of Greeks.

I have visited Persepolis outside Shiraz ; the ruins are incomparable despite the vast damage done by that destructive deed
