Hierarchical Socialites : the Bright Thursday Ecumenism of World Orthodox Bishops
by Subdeacon Nektarios
"On Bright Thursday, during Vespers, the Church’s liturgical text petitions the Lord to “Establish, O God, the holy Orthodox Faith and Orthodox Christians, unto the ages of ages” [1]. The word establish literally means to make stable or to support, like setting a heavy pillar in stone so that it can never fall.

That same day, April 25, 2025, several World Orthodox hierarchs attended "The Joint Meeting of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the USA and the Standing Conference of Oriental Orthodox Churches," held in New York City, according to the GOARCH propaganda outlet, the Orthodox Observer.
The Arch-heresiarch and heresiarchs of the "Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the United States were represented at the meeting by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of North America, His Eminence Metropolitan Saba of the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of North America, His Grace Bishop Irinej of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Eastern America, His Eminence Metropolitan Gregory of the American Carpatho-Russian Diocese of the USA, His Grace Bishop Saba of the Georgian Apostolic Orthodox Church in North America, and His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon and His Eminence Archbishop Michael of the Orthodox Church in America” [2]. Once again working to destabilize Orthodoxy through their incessant participation in heretical ecumenism, acting more like politicians and foreign service diplomats than Orthodox bishops.

What is the "Standing Conference of Oriental Orthodox Churches"? It is much the same as the so-called Assembly of ‘Canonical Orthodox’ Bishops, except that it is composed of six monophysite jurisdictions: the Armenian, Coptic, Ethiopian, Malankara Syriac, Syrian, and Eritrean "churches"—all of which were ecumenically condemned by the Fourth Ecumenical Council at Chalcedon in 451 A.D., and all of which to this day reject every Ecumenical Council after the Third Ecumenical Council at Ephesus in 431.
According to the conclusion of the decree of the Fourth Ecumenical Council held at Chalcedon, their clear statement concerning the true Orthodox Faith reads:
These things, therefore, having been expressed by us with the greatest accuracy and attention, the holy Ecumenical Synod defines that no one shall be suffered to bring forward a different faith (ἑτέραν πίστιν), nor to write, nor to put together, nor to excogitate, nor to teach it to others. But such as dare either to put together another faith, or to bring forward or to teach or to deliver a different Creed (ἕτερον σύμβολον) to as wish to be converted to the knowledge of the truth, from the Gentiles, or Jews or any heresy whatever, if they be Bishops or clerics let them be deposed, the Bishops from the Episcopate, and the clerics from the clergy; but if they be monks or laics: let them be anathematized.
After the reading of the definition, all the most religious Bishops cried out: This is the faith of the fathers: let the metropolitans forthwith subscribe it: let them forthwith, in the presence of the judges, subscribe it: let that which has been well defined have no delay: this is the faith of the Apostles: by this we all stand: thus we all believe [3]
With this in mind, we can now examine the words of the pseudo-bishop and co-worker of Antichrist, Elpidophoros, and his duplicitous address to both the World Orthodox and the Monophysites. At this meeting, he shamelessly addressed these ecumenically condemned heretics as if they were fully Orthodox and legitimate hierarchs of the Church. Elpidophoros dared to call these Monophysites, “My Beloved Brothers and Concelebrants in the Holy Spirit,” thereby not only attributing to them the grace of the Holy Spirit—despite their formal and eternal condemnation by the Fourth Ecumenical Council—but openly acknowledging a form of spiritual communion with them, either clandestine or explicit [4].
Adding insult to injury, in another part of his address, he invoked the death of Pope Francis (Jorge Bergoglio), praising the Papist ecclesiological structure and subtly promoting the heresy of Papal Supremacy, while simultaneously undermining the Orthodox Church’s true conciliar ecclesiology. In this part of his speech, he states:
The passing of Pope Francis teaches us something about the moment we are in. Whereas the Roman Church relies on its “unitary executive,” if you will – the Supreme Pontiff – to hold all the disparate and even opposing views in check, we of the Orthodox and Ancient Patriarchates of the East depend on conciliarity and dialogue. And when they break down, even our common spiritual understandings and faith formulations do not seem strong enough to hold us together [5].
When you carefully analyze this text and break down what he is truly saying, it becomes clear that he is promoting the idea that the doctrine of Papal Supremacy—condemned as heresy by the Orthodox Church—is, in essence, superior. He claims it supposedly "hold[s] all the separate and even opposing views in check," whereas, in Orthodox Christianity, conciliarity allegedly "break[s] down our common spiritual understandings, and faith formulations do not seem strong enough to hold us together” [6].
What he is implying is that a "Supreme Pontiff"—no doubt, in his mind, the Ecumenical Patriarchate—is the only way to keep the faithful "in check," rather than the conciliarity of the Church, which rightly divides the word of truth and leads the faithful into Orthodox confession. In doing so, he suggests that the Church has fractured and has failed to remain one, contrary to the promises of Christ and the unwavering witness of the Holy Fathers. How long will those in World Orthodoxy continue to tolerate their heretical bishops, false teachers, and pseudo-elders—those who constantly preach that you must remain in communion with blasphemous heretics? How long will you suffer on the ecumenist plantation, endlessly waiting for the next so-called "red line" in the sand, threatening to separate from your false bishops, only to swallow the next blasphemy again and again?
