Official canonization incoming of Met. Sergius as a “Confessor”

So from the conference she’s citing, they do want to officially canonize Met. Sergius and recognize him as a “Confessor” rather than simply imply it.

Are we really surprised? I think it was only a matter of time before they would. They already have statues and icons of him all over Russia and have been calling him a "Holy man" since the 1950s.

From my previous discussion with friends, from when I was in the ROCOR, I mentioned that they(MP) viewed Met Sergius as someone worth venerating and would eventually canonize him. The responses were eye rolling, and “you’re being paranoid, they won’t glorify him.”

I don’t blame you. She’s practically a leftist. She considers “Sergianists” a slur that people should refrain from using. She seems to have a gripe with the MP only due to their involvement and glorifying the war with Ukraine.
