Interesting. Regarding the previous post, thank you for bringing out the 2 references. I had never heard a thing about this story of Julian's playing up to his Jewish subjects to spite his Christian ones ; it's quite telling that even then, the Jews and the Christians were inveterate enemies. One imagines this started only 1,000 years ago or so. But it was approximately 2,000 instead. That was a good insight right there, which reminds one that the enmity that Jews feel for Christians is nothing new.
At any rate, I am GLAD that the temple was never rebuilt. Clearly, it was not at all the will of God, yet the Jews behaved as so often they have done by rudely disregarding the sign of Heavenly displeasure with them and enjoying thwarting God's wishes by doing the direct opposite. This time, they got punished, but we are still waiting for punishment for the evildoers in the 20th and 21st centuries who ruin life for all the Middle East by their presence and by their machinations to upset the peace of every other country ; and of course by their strangehold on the US and Europe.
By the way, this was a perfect time to read your posts, Cyprian, as fireworks are noisily going off all around. Thus I can all the better imagine the dramatic scene when the earthquake struck the foundation for the rebuilt temple.
