There has been abundant evidence, even before our current generation, demonstrating a globally-controlled Masonic news media, which foists lies and propaganda upon the unsuspecting public. The problem has not been for lack of evidence, which exists all around us, in plain view!

On a daily basis the global media indoctrinates the masses with lies, telling us that the universe is 14-15 billion years old, the Earth is 4.5 billion years old, that man is derived from apes and lower life-forms, that the Earth is spinning around, and hurtling through space, orbiting the sun, and, in the words of Carl Sagan, is “an insignificant planet of a humdrum star lost in a galaxy tucked away in some forgotten corner of a universe in which there are far more galaxies than people.”
These are all lies, diametrically opposed to the plain teaching of the Church. If they lie to us about all of the above, in addition to promoting the LGBT demonic agenda, murder of the unborn, ecumenism and religious syncretism, why ought we be surprised if they are found to be lying about everything else, including ISIS, supposed Islamic terrorism, etc.?
Lately, the media has been fawning all over Muhammad Ali. He is a tragic figure, not a hero to be emulated, as the lying media has portrayed him. He came to fame by participating in a barbaric sport, where he repeatedly punched opponents in the head, as well as receiving blows to the head himself. Then he converted to a barbaric and antichrist religion, Islam, and willfully took the name of its false prophet, Muhammad.
For this, he is called "the Greatest," and the despicable Bill Clinton is set to eulogize him.

I sometimes like to look back a little here and there to try to pinpoint some of the Big Lies of the past foisted on the American or Western European peoples.
Speaking of Germany, such things as Bismarck's Kulturkampf, a savage war on the Catholics and complete secularization of a newly 'united' Germany - much against the will of the Catholic states, of course, like Bavaria - stand out in the early 1870s. All this suppression of Catholics and elevation of Prussian Lutheranism as well as general secularization of German society was billed as necessary for 'progress'. However, it was a thinly veiled attack on monasteries, convents, religion in general, but particularly the Catholic one which was the only one which spoke out with force against the Masonic agenda. The Orthodox were likely little active in Germany/Prussia in that era or I would speak about them here. The Russian Orthodox Churches at that time would have been mainly at the spas or for visits of Russian Royal Family. I don't think there were too many local German converts to Orthodoxy the way there are now, I assume.
So whenever you come across evidences of Big Lies told to the populations of Western countries through the last few hundred years, please let us know. I would be quite glad to have my eyes opened more.
This point is what you started out with : that this lying is not a new phenomenon.
Would you guess that the scope of the lies has been greatly broadened in recent decades by Western 'media outlets' which are subservient tools of the Masons and other internationalist evil groups ?

The publicity barrage did strike me as contrived. I am so glad you pointed this out ; I would have forgotten already having seen the boxer's name. Usually they were titled "enemies of the people" and dispatched by a firing squad.
So the same here for those fawning agents in the media who proclaim for example : 'hillary is such a model for all women'. Or give out the many messages they are scripted to write or produce.
