GIrl Scouts and Planned Parenthood connection

Post by Maria »

  • The pro-life movement has been concerned for a number of years about the ties between the Girl Scouts and the Planned Parenthood abortion business. Although the Girl Scout organization maintains that it takes “no position” on the issue of abortion, parents, churches, and pro-life activists have long complained of the pro-abortion slant of the Girl Scouts’ resources, role models, and affiliations.

Not only does Planned Parenthood give "presentations" to our junior and senior high schools on artificial birth control methods, but also they give presentations to Girl Scouts so that the girls can earn a merit badge.

Thus, it is not good for Orthodox Christian parents to enroll their sons and daughters in scouting programs either by the Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts. Neither is it good to be buying and eating their cookies. When I was a Girl Scout back in the 1960s, I got sick from eating their cookies, so I refused to buy or eat them.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Ha ha ! I am not surprised about the getting sick for the ingredients are probably terrible.
Was it the standard Girl Scout cookies ? I remember those. I sold them myself one year.
I was not successful that I can remember, being a lousy salesgirl.

The Campfire Mints were off limits because they were chocolate, and also the RIVAL unit of
scouting ! I never tasted one mint in my life therefore.

I have material somewhere to dig up about how drastic the Girl Scouts have become,
even to the point of being pro-homosexual. It's APPALLING !
Let me get that article.

Good topic, Maria.

The below article was written by a Baptist woman in 2007. Imagine how much WORSE
everything is 7 years later at the Girl Scouts ? I didn't see recent exposes like this. Perhaps few parents are
is complaining any more ?
Her article also discusses the dangerous feminist and Planned Parenthood connections to the Girl Scouts.

The troubles started back in the 1970s reportedly. Here are the most nauseating changes :

" In 1980, the Girl Scouts changed their guidelines on homosexuality. The organization adopted a "non-discrimination" policy, making clear it would thereafter welcome lesbians, either as scouts or as troop leaders. In fact, a 1997 book entitled, "On My Honor: Lesbians Reflect on their Scouting Experience," is filled with stories of homosexual encounters in the Girl Scouts and a statement by a former Girl Scout administrator that about one third of the Girl Scouts' paid professional staff are lesbians."

Further :

"....in 1993, the Girl Scout Promise was revised to make God optional. And even earlier, in 1972, the Girls Scouts removed "loyalty" from their oath, claiming it was outmoded."

Now Catholics are wising up about the corruption of morals going on in today's Girl Scouts.

The Archbishop of St Louis has issued a warning about parishes allowing Girl Scout meetings to take place on their premises. He wisely recommends that priests cut their connections with the now-fallen organization :

"[Archbishop] Carlson worries that contraception and abortion rights are being promoted to Girl Scouts. The letter also said resources and social media "highlight and promote role models in conflict with Catholic values, such as Gloria Steinem and Betty Friedan." Steinem, 81, is a feminist, journalist and political activist. Friedan, who died in 2006 at age 85, was a feminist and writer.

"In addition, recent concerns about GSUSA and their position on and inclusion of transgender and homosexual issues are proving problematic," Carlson wrote."
