Geocentrism vs. The Myth of the Earth as a Planet

The earth is motionless in the geocentric model. A planet, by definition, "wanders" or moves. The great and holy fathers of antiquity, who all taught that the earth is at rest, in the center of the universe, never called the earth a planet; however, fathers such as St. Basil the Great and St. John of Damascus do refer to the sun as a planet.

Referring to the earth as a planet is an innovation of recent centuries adapted to popular belief in the heliocentric model, where the earth is purported to rotate on its axis while orbiting the sun.

It is ill-advised for Orthodox Christians to refer to the earth as a planet, since this implies the earth is in motion, when it is not.

But this is a thread about the Milky Way Galaxy theory. Where are your connecting thoughts on that? Otherwise, maybe you should start a new thread, brother. I would love to discuss geocentrism and is Earth a planet or a plane (flat earth theory) as it is an interesting topic.

It was not I who brought up and was promoting Robert Sungenis, geocentrism, a film called "The Principle," and much more in that thread. What does all that specifically have to do with the Milky Way? The earth was referred to as a planet on multiple occasions in that Milky Way thread, so that seemed like a proper venue to address the misnomer. I don't see the purpose in starting a new thread for every little side comment that takes place. Why not then start a new thread to talk about Robert Sungenis and his film The Principle?
