Lord have mercy.
Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.
Re: Bishop Artemije and True Orthodoxy
I was looking for the first time this spring at new plants in a nursery> the first flower I saw was in large letters : Serbian Violet or some kind of flower ! I was amazed, having never heard of that species.
When arriving here later, I knew to look at this post about Serbia first therefore !
This part is revealing :
" I asked him of what he thought of the future for his flock, as he was getting on in years, and he replied that I need not worry about such a thing. On the basis of the entire conversation I formed the strong impression that he was waiting for some kind of agreement with the official church about his return to his eparchy and that confession of the faith was not the principal matter. Many had warned me of just this, as after all he had not left the SP because of confession of the faith, but rather had been driven out of his eparchy in a lawless manner."
The first sentence tells us that Bp Artemije was brusque to Fr Urosh. That's how I interpret that rude reply to a friendly inquiry. He could have said politely "Yes, this is a problem upon which we are working to resolve who will be my succesor". It would have been adequately vague but at least show respect for the good will of the question -- and the questioner.
One gets the idea that Bp Artemije was trying to get Fr Urosh out of the house ! He seems to have been barely civil.
The following sentences in the paragraph from which I quoted are an explanation of Bp Artemije's apparent nebulous status. But as the Father openly says, disappointing. It must have been a real letdown to walk out of the Belgrade residence.
I always wondered about the charges made against Bp Artemije about misuse of funds. One place apparently included was a Serbian Assistance Fund based here in the US but under this prelate's sponsorship.
