GOC-K Encyclical re: merging of two dioceses in Americas

With the resignations effective January 1, 2015, due to health issues of two ruling bishops in the Americas, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Etna and Bishop Sergios of Portland, these two dioceses will be merged and a new bishop elected to rule it.

Thanks so much for the information, Maria. I would not have a word about this momentous event otherwise.
Any idea what health problems these are ?
Why both of them at the same time ??
