This came out July 16, 2014. Since it mainly talks about the Old Rocor, I figured to post this here.
It's actually amazing that there is so little local appreciation of the gorgeous monument which stands out from many vantage points around the City and the Bay Area !
But a well-known photographer DID catch this, right in time for Vigil of the Feast of Royal Martyrs this year.
"This is a cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia, founded after the Russian Revolution. It's also the physical manifestation of a community with deep Richmond District roots. Outsiders who get this far west on Geary often are heading somewhere else - but for a moment, five gold-leafed bulbous domes signal that the urban world around us is far more exotic than we can know."
