It was Friday, a working day. But in Russia you are not so much attached to the working hours and often you can come to work later if needed. Finally, most of the priests also work (in Russia priests have civil jobs), but they are at the service.

Also look at the same Feast three years ago, in 2010, while Metropolitan Valentine was still alive. It was Monday, also a working day. But there were considerably much more people (look starting from 8:40): http://video.yandex.ru/users/ir-non/view/9/

I heard there is a sort of depression in Suzdal after the death of Met Valentine.

I study English, forgive my mistakes.

Dear Father Joseph,

In the times of Bishop Gregory (Grabbe) True Orthodox Church was very big and strong in Russia. It was especially large before Bishop Barnaba of Cannes started his destructive activity in our country.

I do not want to discourage you, but at present the situation is different and the current numbers are low. Look at this video. This is one of the main Orthodox Feasts, the First-Hierarch of ROAC is elevating the cross, the biggest event in Church.

There are a lot of priests there, but starting from 0:40 you can count the people in the church. Are there at least 20 people at this service?

(I am sorry I am very busy all these days, and then the Lent starts, but I hope to participate the discussions later).

Is this after they took the Church away?

Both videos of the same Feast (in 2010 at the link above and in 2013) were taken after MP took the main cathedral away.
The parish moved to the Iveron church that they made bigger.

By the way, two ROAC Suzdal priests (Alexey Chesnokov and Andrey Smirnov) also moved to MP and were re-ordained (this is not counting the parish in Borisovkoye that also moved to MP with their priest). Now one of these former ROAC priests serves in the former ROAC cathedral that is very sad. Another one became the helper of MP Metropolitan that is also very sad.

Shocking news about ROAC !
I had no idea. Thanks for letting us know.

What sort of helper did the ex-Roac priest become to the [not real] patriarch ?
And the sad irony of the priest serving in the former [St Constantine ?] Cathedral
under the MP now ? How painful that fact must be for all the true ROAC members.

What is the depression in Suzdal concerning ? Was there a loss of direction after
the repose of Met Valentine ? A feeling of being - pardon the expression, Alexander ! - at sea ?

There was not a loss of direction after the repose of Met Valentine. I think this is the loss of Met Valentine that causes this depression. He had a very strong personality that created a climate in Suzdal. And he was taking care of everything and everybody and he was inspiring everybody. They miss him very much up till now.
