My aunt studied our roots, and in the process, we found out that our ancestors were Maronite Catholics from France.
They came to France from Lebanon and grew grapes, made swords, and then came over to England during the Normandie Invasion.
That is why we joined the Melkite Catholic Church, which ultimately led us into Holy Orthodoxy.

Thank you for your desire to share what you believe is truth, and open minded discussion on controversial or taboo subjects. There is a time and place to do that, but I am pretty sure that the Euphrosynos Forum does not allow what in both Canada and the United States, constitutes under our legal system anti-semitic propaganda. It constitutes hate speech here, and therefore is an indictable offence. Please remove your posts. We are not so much a political forum here as we are a religious forum. I do believe that you are a sincere seeker of truth and do not mean to promote hatred against Jewish people, however, I think a great many people are led astray into accepting these hate-inspiring arguments that portray the Jewish people as evil racial-supremacist bigots. This is not true, they are not like that. The Jews I know are very simple and good people who live in constant fear of their goyim neighbours hating them without cause as has happened so many times down through history and ended in Pogroms. And even it were true of a few of them, it would not change the fact that reporting such things, as in the above posts, constitutes the crime of hate-speech, for which cause the Euphrosynos Cafe could be both shut down and charged with heavy fines or the site's owners and operators could even potentially be awarded jail terms. Although sociable, the tone of your writing sound like coming from member of Sanhedrin or ADL. You are asking me to remove my posts because you considerer them to be “anti-semitic propaganda.” Why should I follow your advice, anyway; because you do not like the truth to be told?

It is one thing to put a man in possession of the truth, to get him to understand it is another, and to get him to act upon it is another still. Truth by itself has no value unless used or applied in some way.

The following writing is more in tune as to the creation of the State of Israel ['homeland'] and its consequences than the Jewish people per se.

From the Foreword by Gore Vidal of Israel Shahak's book "Jewish History, Jewish Religion: The Weight of 3,000 Years", which is all the more important for being a document by a knowledgeable Jew -- a Jewish "insider" -- about the beliefs and behavior of his fellow Jews.

Sometime in the late 1950s, that world-class gossip and occasional historian, John F. Kennedy, told me how, in 1948, Harry S. Truman had been pretty much abandoned by everyone when he came to run for president. Then an American Zionist brought him two million dollars in cash, in a suitcase, aboard his whistle-stop campaign train. 'That's why our recognition of Israel was rushed through so fast.' As neither Jack nor I was an antisemite (unlike his father and my grandfather) we took this to be just another funny story about Truman and the serene corruption of American politics.

Unlikely, because no other minority in American history has ever hijacked so much money from the American taxpayers in order to invest in a 'homeland'. It is as if the American taxpayer had been obliged to support the Pope in his reconquest of the Papal States simply because one third of our people are Roman Catholic. Had this been attempted, there would have been a great uproar and Congress would have said no. But a religious minority of less than two per cent has bought or intimidated seventy senators (the necessary two thirds to overcome an unlikely presidential veto) while enjoying support of the media.

From Jerusalem, Israel Shahak never ceases to analyse not only the dismal politics of Israel today but the Talmud itself, and the effect of the entire rabbinical tradition on a small state that the right-wing rabbinate means to turn into a theocracy for Jews only. I have been reading Shahak for years. He has a satirist's eye for the confusions to be found in any religion that tries to rationalise the irrational. He has a scholar's sharp eye for textual contradictions. He is a joy to read on the great Gentile-hating Dr Maimonides.

Well said, Symeon, I agree with you whole-heartedly.
I think it is pointless to confront such bigotry. That the sources which Nadir references have been thoroughly discredited doesn't seem to matter. Shahak fabricated much of his "information." And for a Roman Catholic to rely on the judgment of a homosexual, atheist and convicted libeler as Gore Vidal is simply shameful.
