Here is an interesting shot of red auroras taken from down under. Nadir, have you seen these auroras where you live?
On October 2nd, a CME hit Earth's magnetic field, sparking a G2-class geomagnetic storm. Sky watchers on both ends of the Earth saw auroras; many of the lights were rare shades of red. Minoru Yoneto photographed this example from Queenstown, New Zealand.

There is an old American Indian legend that when red auroras appear, bloodshed follows. Apparently, certain signs in the heavens indicate disturbances on earth that can trigger aggression.
This sky resembles scenes of a forest fire at night or a volcanic explosion.
