If you Love Indy-Folk Music

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

If you Love Indy-Folk Music

Post by Matthew »

For all you American style indy-folk music lover's on the forum, I thought you would like to see this 2 minute music video by two Ottawa Canada brothers (my hometown where I live and grew up) do a cover version of "Don't Panic" by british indy group Coldplay.

Hope you enjoy it!

Here is another excellent and highly recommended song by the same two brothers:

It is Keane's "Silenced by the Night". Great ending to the song, too. Enjoy.

Beautiful, I know Keane well.

Have you ever heard Marillion? Another great, though less will known, British band.

Here they are covering Keane's Bedshaped. Best version imho.

You will love it!

I am nonplussed. What is "a cover version" ??
I am lost.

I ventured to watch the second one because of Icxypion's description.
To my surprise, I found it was fairly all right as far as decency goes
and the 2 brothers look NORMAL !
I expected total weirdo/scary / modern "performers" - usually devils in human attire.

These guys looked respectable and sounded fairly nice.

I will have to listen to the first selection soon, if it's the same type of thing ?

A cover version is when someone performs a song that was first performed by someone else.

Playing someone else's song.
