Lyme disease is not a mental illness

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

Lyme disease is not a mental illness

Post by Maria »

Doctors and even Priests are often too quick to blame a patient's complaints on mental illness. There is still much that physicians do not know about the human body and the causes of disease.

  • Her husband had rushed her to a Boston emergency room for severe vertigo, confusion, and a bizarre weakness on her right side, but neurological and other tests had yielded nothing. Maybe, a doctor suggested gently, it was a panic attack. ...

She was still reeling from the experience a week later when her phone rang. One of her lab tests had come back positive — for Lyme disease.

This disease is a real pain both for humans and animals, as a number of dog walkers in the South of England can testify. Like all Spirochete Bacteria it is a real survivor, which is not good if you are infected. One thing it is not is a psychiatric disorder, despite the American Psychiatric Association's ability to conjure up ever increasing numbers of disorders based on absolutely no peer reviewed research to uphold these disorders existence or the viability of treatments offered for them.

The author of a religious newsletter wrote that she and several others in her large family [I think about 5 or 10 adopted children!
I can't keep track ] had this problem which did not sound mental but physical.
She said it caused suffering but did not detail how.

Thank God, I have no notion what these illnesses are.
I get most confused I think when the disease is named after a human's last name.
How can one keep these straight ?!

But hearing mentions here and there, and on this thread, maybe indicates that this particular one seems to be spreading

It seems unfair when generous parents like that get stricken with misfortune.

My solution to avoid any pitfalls like this ?

Clean out the blood ; use herbs like Yellow Dock Root, Dandelion, and
I could recommend some more if anyone is willing to entertain this idea.
It works to keep away everything, God willing !
