Criminal Mind, NCIS, New Technology, Smart Phones, etc.

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

New reason to throw out TV :

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/9-househo ... 06425.html

First of the 9 listed is a TV set which is vulnerable to spying attempts.
I had no idea about any of the details below, but i could intuitively feel that any electronic device these days is going to be
huge trouble !
I think all smart phones should be junked by True Orthodox people, as well as TVs, and definitely modern TV's.

Regarding the TV the article states :

"It does it all by connecting to the Internet. Therein lies its weakness. Computer Security firm ReVuln proved last year that it could hack Samsung’s newest televisions, accessing users’ settings, installing malware on the TVs and any connected devices, and harvesting all the personal data stored on the machine. They could even switch on the camera embedded in the TV and watch viewers watching the set.

Samsung says it patched the security flaw. That said, who’s to say that Samsung is the only brand to have experienced a security issue?"

Having a camera imbedded in a TV sounds sinister. Yet this news story was carried on major news media outlets. Why did Samsung install that hidden camera?

Yet many people do have a camera attached to their computer so that they can send images of themselves while online. That is one item I have not and will not purchase. Is this part of skype communications?

And then there is the concern about cable TV with the possibility that the cables work both ways and are able to conduct surveillance viewing and hearing people in the homes. Is this true? Or is this just another paranoid conspiracy theory that is floating around?

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Well, for starters, one would need the hardware for such a situation... ie. your T.V. would need a microphone/camera etc. in order to make it possible.

They are trying to integrate social networking, Facebook and stuff, into 'smart' internet enabled t.v.'s. This is part of the internet management. Facebook has really captured people. The camera will be for Skype and stuff. There is no reason to count out the possibility that televisions have had cameras built in for a long time. It's not paranoid, it's quite reasonable to assume, in fact it's an intelligent assumption. We should never underestimate the enemy. It's only the people on t.v. (who have sold their souls and lie for a job) that would call it paranoid to be concerned with surveillance and who wants to listen to or think like them?

The new x.box, Microsoft's game console uses a device called kinect that allows for control of games by body gestures using cameras. This was an add-on for the last x-box but is now built in. You cannot use the console unless you are connected to the internet and the cameras are operating. The new Sony PlayStation console will also have cameras built in and I assume they will be used to watch people as well. It was known way back in 99 that Windows had a backdoor built into the software that could be accessed by the NSA.

Intelligence agencies dictate they way technology is used, they always have. Corporations that don't play the game cease to exist. Generally the technology available to the Gov is a few years ahead of what we are allowed to use. They (corporate media) announce new technologies years after the Gov and intelligence have been using them so we are always a few steps behind even in our perception of their abilities. It's always been that way. It's not like 'we are all in it together.'

Television and news creates a virtual world that is updated daily, that many assume to be a real world that we all share, but it is false. We should not watch news but do our own research and love truth more than conformity. They only lie, it's their job, even if they don't know it.

Soon the p.c. will be phased out except for business and people will only use tablets, smart phones, game consoles and t.v.s for all internet, entertainment, communications etc. and Without the flexibility of the p.c. the whole information flow will be completely controlled and even modified on the fly using CGI (this has been possible for at least a few years.)

We should be very careful about a 'need' to consume corporate, or even alternative news, in the future this need will be used to capture and integrate people into a false world that will be hard to escape - impossible for most.

Do not be shocked by those who teach new doctrines but seem to be worthy of credence. Stand solidly like an anvil under blows. A good athlete suffers blows but wins. St Ignatius.

I have heard that PCs and laptops will be phased out in favor of smart phones.
And that soon, a person will have to have an app in order to get coupons as the commercial world is going paperless.
I am not that comfortable with the new technology. Lord have mercy.

The internet is a 'wan' - wide area network. Your home network is a 'lan' - local area network. Soon there will be the 'pan' - personal area network. Everyone who wants to be part of the system will be assigned an i.p. address. You will need it for banking, government services, health records, everything - they will say it's more secure. Smart phones already have individual i.p. addresses, so it's being introduced gradually, normalised and made 'cool.'

'But I don't want an i.p. address!'
'You already have one in your phone.'

'But I don't want a smart meter with its emf fields!'
'You already have that with your phone.'

'But I don't want cameras in my house!'
'You already have one in your x-box and your phone, and your tablet and your car.'

U.S. Gov now has a biometric system that enables drones to identify people from the air, and the British government recently used receivers hidden in recycle bins to track smart phone users. Soon you won't be able to get a job or go to hospital and things without giving up biometric data and in this way everyone will be on the database and able to be tracked or targeted.

The cameras in t.v.s will be used to monitor our reactions to the content, same way our internet activity is used to manage targeted advertising. That will find even well hidden dissenters this way. I see so many people staring into tablets and smart phones these days, all of which have front facing cameras. Are they constantly watched? Probably. We have been allowed to see images of the control rooms for cctv, where drone people sit and watch their fellow citizens all day as they go about their business. The fact that we have been shown this implies it's the tip of the iceberg. I saw one video from Britain where a guy drops rubbish in the street and a speaker attached to a camera tells him off and says to put it in the bin! He does it, too.

Antichrist plays God - he has to be, as far as possible, omniscient.

Wow, I am going to have to take time to digest all this.
SOME I knew, but it's so disquieting
I love my PC !
I don't WANT to shift over.
Does that mean we should buy extra PC's NOW because they won't be available ?

I would NEVER in a million years purchase a DumbPhone.
The concept is awful, and people look like idiots peering into these little silly things everywhere you look in public.
No one looks elsewhere except - what ? to check their email ?
What are they doing ??
It is really weird.

At least it keeps them occupied, I guess. So they aren't staring at us with vacant stares.
But it's almost like their MINDS and their souls increasingly are "occupied" by all this frightening mental manipulations.

Arcmode, you wrote really well.

I woke up thinking, is his [her?] name a reference to Noah's Ark ??
Like we are all in the mode of seeking a safe refuge when something worse than the original delugee could strike,
i.e. God's punishment on this arrogant - so-called - 'civilization' ?
Is that what your name means/?!
