What is a konaki? You should use English terms. Konaki is understandable to nobody, use administrative center and it is clearer...

One can infer it is an old Ottoman Balkan term for government building, or governor's offices.

It WAS a little confusing for non-Mt Athonites !
Good point, Jean-Serge !

They need all the help they can get, after all, and the more clarity the better.

These new pictures are AWFUL> I feel so sorry for the poor monks. Shudder, shudder.

It was mentioned in the original statement that Konaki is the admin centre,
but you seem to already know that.

In any case it is good to expand one's vocabulary using the original Orthodox terminology, rather than translations.
That is why 90% of the Orthodox terms are in their original Greek.
(for example you dont translate "Orthodox" into an English Translation)

hope that makes sense

The problem is that even if someone is willing to help writing a letter of protest and read "konaki" (with no indication), he will wonder, what's that, it is in no dictionary and can be found not easily on the net. Any news from there today morning?

"Μολών λαβέ." :D

Dear Father Ephrem, this is what ROAC in Suzdal should have done in 2009, but they delivered the church buildings for fear of being prosecuted as "extremist" by the RF government. (I was very puzzled with this "voluntary" defeat! The temples were delivered by ROAC to RF Goverment, not taken!)

But with the new administration in ROAC under Met. Feodor apparently things have changed and he bravely applied the "Molon labe" with the matter about the relics of St. Evfimiy and St. Evfrosinia, and that surely was the cause of the ROAC victory in this case...

Dear Father Siluan,

it is actually pronounced "Molon Lave", not "Labe".
