The article was written by some Roman Catholic Cardinal(I thought they are heretics). Anything from the Catholic church is irrelevant to me especially since the child abuse scandal. This cardinal probably covered up for pedophiles and yet he has to blast women's fashion.

My soul is lonely dark and afraid.

Absolutely right, logos. I will not read anything written by a member of that "church".

This current disgusting scandel just adds more to the dung heap of this supposed "church of god". It is controlled by the god of THIS world.

I JUST LOVE the way you all revisit this tired old subject. Modesty is a matter of perception. Both from society's view and from the church's view. What is considered modest in one culture is not necessarily true for another culture. The church has been known to adapt local customs when it was warrented. Even the wearing of pants to church by women .... China comes to mind.

"Fashion" comes and goes ... it goes away faster when it is not worn. And we, as individuals, need not be slaves to fashion. Some times you can even change those around you when you dress as a lady or even a gentleman ... be it in in pants or not. Clothes do not make the man or woman. It is what is in your heart that counts.

p.s. A party sounds like a great thing!

I am all for a toga party at Ania's. No pants allowed! Togas for everyone except clergy! The summer is usually best for these, maybe summer 2004? And if we discuss it seriously, maybe we should move discussion to a new thread in the Misc. forum?
