• According to CBS News correspondent Bob Orr, two bombs were inside trash cans near the viewing area close to the finish line. One unexploded device has been recovered, according to CBS.

  Orr is reporting that authorities have recovered surveillance video from the area which shows a man with what looked to be two backpacks near the scene just moments before the blast.

Another source said that the cell phone towers in the area had been shut down to prevent another detonation.

Rumors abound this evening (early morning on the East Coast):

First an injured Saudi National was said to be a suspect in the Boston Massacre, then there are leaks from the press that it is a Right Wing conspiracy, and that the Saudi is not a suspect.

Reports over the radio and in the press hint that police have broadened the search for a suspect:

• Boston police and a cadre of federal officials descended on an Ocean Avenue apartment complex in Revere last night.

  In addition to two Boston Police K-9 units and a bomb squad unit, a large contingent of federal agents from the FBI, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as well as Homeland Security investigations and state police had assembled at the two buildings.

• Investigators believe the bombs at the Boston Marathon were shrapnel-studded pressure cookers, hidden in backpacks and set off by timers, law enforcement officials told NBC News on Tuesday.

Earlier that year, terrorists used a pressure cooker bomb in an attack in Pakistan. And in 2006, more than 130 people were killed on the transit system of Mumbai, India, when pressure cookers loaded with explosives were placed on trains.

Three people have died and over 176 were injured.

The Saudi National student is no longer a suspect. Police searched his apartment last night in Revere and apparently found nothing incriminating. However, they are asking for pictures taken by cell phones to help identify any suspects. Additionally, police have ruled out the fire at the JFK Library as it was due to an electrical short, not a bomb. In the panic that followed this terrorist attack, the so-called two to three suspicious devices that were initially discovered were also ruled out.
