Such a question is outrage! (Onion Dome talk.) True Orthodox use beeswax candles. What are light bulbs?
Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.
Well played! The last Greek (EP) church I was in had light bulbs on the alter rather than candles/oil lamps. I was a bit taken aback by that.
Light bulbs ? Oh my gosh.
About the earlier reference, I thought it said "New FLIES" - like a new breed of dangerous winged insect.
I guess that's what Newfoundland residents are nicknamed, though?
Yes, people from Newfoundland are called "Newfies." Newfie jokes are Canada's equivalent to Polish jokes. They speak with a very distinct accent which I find delightful. They are fine, honest, generous people with a great sense of humour.
Yes, they are excellent people, and many of them are practising Christians. But Canadians have traditionally poked fun at them with standard "Newfie Jokes."
Still waiting for Antonios to finish his Orthodox Light Bulb joke...
Five: One to change the light bulb and four to pull the ladder out from under him.
Need I duck and cover now?
