Jurisdiction Help

Post by Priest Antonios »

I don't mean to stir up a hornets nest here. However, my wife and I are at a point where we need to start making some more hard decisions. We've read about anything we have come across online or that has been recommended to us in print about True Orthodox jurisdictions. The seeming lack of unity in True Orthodoxy is quite hard to wade through, as I am sure many of you have had to struggle with yourselves. So, what I would like to ask is: why did you choose the jurisdiction you are in, are there any you would avoid and why?

Thank you for your time.

Thank you for tackling this VERY CONSTRUCTIVE point.
Are we allowed to talk about it here, or should I wait for it to be moved to Intra-Toc ?
I can surely say some things. But I will wait to be sure it's allowed to stay here.

Very important, Antonios. Glad you are at that crossroads.

I believe in being VERY honest and direct. That's the only way
to sincerely assist, I think. Others will contribute their points of view and I hope
everyone will be refreshingly direct to help this member and wife.

Barbara,

Thank you very much. I too hope this is allowed as I do not have access to the intra-TOC forum. It's a question that is potentially of eternal consequence for our family.

As long as folks post good constructive posts about their own jurisdiction, state positive reasons why they joined their jurisdiction, avoid criticizing their own jurisdiction, and avoid attacking another True Orthodox jurisdiction, then this thread may stay here. However, as soon as negativity enters this thread, then all negative posts will be split into the Intra-TOC Private Forum.

As soon as you have contact with a True Orthodox Priest and are receiving instruction, then Antonios, you can request permission to access our private forums.

Lovingly in Christ,
Maria

Antonios, I have sent you a PM.

God bless and guide you and your family.

Truly, if the procession of the Holy Spirit from the Father is perfect, then that from the Son is superfluous.

Thank you very much Maria. We need it, more than we know I'm sure.

Thank you very much for your kind message Father.

I've received a message from one other member as well. We really appreciate the help and concern.
