Geez Mate...
Bsp. Peter was never kicked out of anywhere. How is it possible for him to get kicked out, & then to be recieved there as a novice & tonsured into monastism, then made a heiromonk, then an archimandrate? I've come to the conclusion that people who don't have contact with the parties involved, should keep their noses in their own soup bowls. If an investigation of the rumors was warented, Met. Lavr would have certainly formed an investigative committee. As he has not, the clergy and laypeople of ROCOR should trust their first heirarch, and start worrying about more imporant things (lets say their own salvation, for one).

Dear OrthodoxyorDeath,
I just noticed that you might've taken what I wrote as a personal slam against you. Just wanted to let you know that it wasn't directed at you, just at my frustration that Orthos in particular for some reason tend to rumor monger more than any other group of people I've ever come in contact with (not that I don't sinfully enjoy a juicy tidbit every once in a while myself). When I see people I respect do it (in this case the priests of Washington D.C.), it ticks me off even more.
As far as the guy shouting "anaxios," well, he's writen enough about that himself I guess.

Your comment is spot-on. I doubt that there is a Bishop or priest anywhere who would know Bishop Peter's character better than the Metropolitan. As the Abott of Jordanvillle Seminary for so many years, I have a feeling he has probably had enough contact with the former Fr Peter (who was the seminary inspector) to know everything about him.
I can also imagine that if you get a seminary full of young, single guys (some who are still teenagers) who basically want to party, (or even just go to Herkimer for Pizza) and the seminary inspector gives them an obedience when all their friends are free to go about their own business.. so then they start malicious rumours directed at the person responsible for enforcing discipline. It starts out as a joke, but then it grows into something quite dangerous.
Not that I know Bishop Peter at all, but I'm just sick of having my inbox filled with these tiresome political stunts emanating from Washington. There are other ways to earn a mitre that don't involve attacking others.

I also had a lot of respect for both Frs Vladimir and Victor. Needless to say, I find it hard to take either of them seriously anymore.
