This post from Paradosis attempts to correct all the misinformation that has been presented by various members of World Orthodoxy regarding the vicious attack on Hieromonk Maxim:

This attack on Hieromonk Maxim is from those animated by the very same spirit that drove Metropolitan Vitaly out of Synod, then kidnapped him and took him to a psychiatric hospital, then attempted to kidnap him again (all paid for from Synod funds); this same spirit purged Igumenia Juliana from the Mount of Olives, as if she were a rabid dog, then purged many other monks and nuns from there. It is the same evil spirit that drove out St. Glicerie and many others in Romania, and before that the True Orthodox in Greece.
The tree is known by its fruit. Those who are not horrified at this crime, and make excuses for it, we have noticed are not devoutly repenting of their sins, but have an unwholsome nose for gossiping about the sins of others. We can be absolutely certain that the beating of Fr. Maxim and the attempted arson of his church will be followed up by more of the same. Who is next?Priestmonk Elia
