Poll on Gospel/Epistle Reading

Post by Justin2 »

I was curious what everyone else did. I try to do it in the morning, since I have the free time.

Ah, but if you read the Epistle and Gospel for the day in the evening, do you read it on the evening before the day, or do you read it the evening after the day is over (e.g. Gospel for 29 June: read on night of 28 June, or 29 June)? ;)

Good thought on the evening thing. I suppose if you wanted to be very technical, you'd read it after Vespers the night before the day intended. Then again, I don't know if that's accurate, because I don't think anyone starts or ends a fast at night (except at the end of Great Lent, early in the wee hours of the morning).

Sorry I just saw your question there about the evening thing Mor! :) When I read the Scriptures for the day I read it that night....like let's say I'll read today's (from July 28 O.C.) tonight before I go to bed. That's just the best time for me to think and that way I can think about it some while I go to sleep.
