YES !

They must also be hypnotists, I think, like snake charmers in India --
MP-KGB's succeeded in mesmerizing a whole level of Rocor into blithely casting aside their deep seated fears of
Moscow, Sergianism, ecumenism --
What on earth else could account for that 180 degree turnaround over such a short time ??

I hope there will be some "Deprogrammers" available for those who want to exit for safer shores...!

Well, I think it is not that the ROCOR used hypnotism, but that the people of our nation and generation have been as much seduced by the spirit of the age and the relativism of our schools and institutions. So, they fell into a careless attitude about the errors of the Soviet Church. They became more interested in what the benefits might be available to them by joining with moscow, also maybe there was a kind of nostalgia about "returning to mother Russia" a kind of misled homesickness, not realising that Rocor carried in itself the real Russian Homeland which is spiritual and the MP had lost its real russian heart and home in the 1920s. They are truly something cold, dead, and alien, not warm alive and natural and native to True Holy Rus.

Not only has ROCOR been "seduced by the spirit of the age and the relativism of our schools and institutions," but also they have bought the soviet propaganda that communism has fallen when in fact, it has gone underground according to several KGB spies who defected to the USA just before the supposed "fall" of the Soviet Union.

I forgot which spy this was, but I think a book was also written, a book which received little recognition.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Beautifully expressed -- !

Could we type this thread up, especially Icxypion's post, and send it to all RocorMP parishes to hand out as flyers at the door ?!

Maybe with the older generation either ill or having reposed, the younger ones just didn't want to grasp the importance
of maintaining strong memory of all the horrors of the Soviet Union and also its aggressive meddling in the affairs of
Rocor for all of the existence of Independent Rocor.
Maybe the younger ones shrugged to themselves "Oh my grandmother was exaggerating, you know how they get worked up
over nothing. Sergianism couldn't be THAT bad."

I guess some old emigres, who grew up in Harbin and Tientsin, immediately capitulated, rationalizing that the 'reunion' was inevitable some time anyway, so why not in 2007, they figured ?

Maria, were you thinking of maybe Lt-Col. Konstantin Preobrazhensky [who is warning more about the veiled Soviet-Russian presence and influence
in America] ? Or [Major-General?] Oleg Kalugin ? Or both ?--
Or others too ?

Can't imagine what that word "inevitable" has to do with one's personal obligation to hold to the Truth. What a cheap excuse. That is the same argument the school board uses about why we should supply our teens with condoms and clean needles, because it is "inevitable" that they will have sex before they hit 17, or that they will try shooting up when they are in high school. What a self-fulfilling prophecy!

GOOD point !

I myself am not an emigre but i did not ever imagine any "reunion" to be even in the distant offing.

I think some of these people who DID assume this listened to whispers of demons in their minds to produce such
a rationalization.
