Bishop Sergios is a good speaker.
Sounds forthright and serious.

He was recovering from I guess [ a virus?!] back in 2006.

How is his health now? Maria had asked us to pray for his respiratory problem.

This is the first time I have seen him speak. Impressive.

His health is better now, but please keep him in your prayers.

He is now 70, and traveling is never easy at that age.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

I really like his way of speaking too. Really good message. I like the way he cuts the so-called "reasonable and moderate" Orthodox of the SCOBA and World Orthodox, who love to characterise us as empty-headed fringe crazies, down to size.

70 ? Oh... that's so nice he is so active still trying to spread the message widely.

He has a nice sense of humor, doesn't seem self-conscious or self-important like for example, Fr ___ Lebedeff, ahem.
[Hint : I don't mean the reposed Fr. Lev, naturally !]

I know that he went to St Vladimirs, was in same class or at the same era as Retired Bp Tikhon from OCA>

Maria, do you know where along the way then-Fr Sergios switched over to I guess HOCNA ? And then to HOTCA ?
How did this all happen, if you have heard ?

Speaking of the talkative Retired Bp -- he dismissed the TOC jurisdictions as "POMPOUS" and some deprecating adjectives like that.

Not nice !

Archimandrite Father Sergios (Black) left the OCA in the late 1990s or very early 2000's, and then he and his monastery joined HOCNA. I think he was consecrated bishop around 2003. His Grace Bishop Sergios left HOCNA at the end of April 2011. At first he was Bishop of Loch Lomond, but now he is the Bishop of Portland and the Western United States, which is a huge responsibility. Please pray for him. He is a very godly bishop.

Yes, the retired Bishop Tikhon of San Francisco and the West (OCA) needs our prayers. He is a former Baptist. He is highly educated with a photographic memory, and that has gone to his head. Lord have mercy. Thankfully, he never married or his wife would not have heard the end of it. He remembers everything. Silence is not his virtue!

Oh, have you heard of this joke:

There were four clergymen who were out in a boat fishing.

One of them piped up: "Since we are alone out here, how about a little honesty, ahem, confession?"

Another said, "Sure, since you suggested this, you be first."

So, the Anglican pastor volunteered that he smoked but was very discrete about it, and only his wife knew about this filthy habit.

Next, the Catholic priest confessed that he had a drinking problem, but he was very discrete about it, and no one knew except his Catholic confessor.

Then the Jewish rabbi admitted that he stole from the collection basket, but he was very discrete about it, so no one knew about this indiscretion.

Finally, the Baptist minister confessed that he loved to gossip and that he was dying to tell everyone about this camping confession.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.
