Egypt Security Orders Death Sentence Upon Film Makers

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

How typical. The Sword of Islam has never been put in its sheath.

I saw this rather 'pathetic' and very provocative film some time ago. Could think of no good reason for making except for putting innocents at risk. However Moslems themselves are not necessarily inoffensive when it comes to Christians and others. The Romantics imagery of Islam as a religion of tolerance and peace was and is not true. If their so-called prophet is an exemplar of how to live and behave then paedephilia, brutal murder and the ignoring of the rights and dignity of those who differ from his prescribed path are just fine.

How some supposed Christian leaders can cosy up to Islam really defies both history and any knowledge of the two religions.

Indeed, Islam is antagonistic by design. Also, as you note, the film puts people at risk or reprisals, and stirs up conflict. For this reason, we can wonder, was it produced for that reason alone? To stir up middle easter conflict and create the crisis as an excuse to launch a war to take more territory, neutralise threats or opponents, and further the creation of a Global Government?
