Fighting ‘Terrorism’ or Democracy? UK’s Surveillance System

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

PIRA- Provisional Irish Republican Army. The formerly very active terrorist group responsible for countless attacks and bombings in the north of Ireland, and here on the mainland (including Brighton, Manchester and Birmingham), protection rackets and numerous bank raids in the Irish Republic. A lot of funding came from cause fund raising in the USA.

I feel too American and other western countries fell for the spin put on changes in Russia, seen too readily as the fall of communism. Although I have the words of my long dead grandfather, "fear not the Russian bear but rather the Chinese Tiger", haunting me. (He died before the rise of Mao's People's Republic).

I suppose for me all of these things may be a preparation for a New World Order and ultimately the Anti-Christ. One thing surely is not to be complacent, nor assume too readily it is worse somewhere else. Just as business, crime and finance is international so are these non-accidental trends.

Lord have mercy.
But why were you checking you car? Don't they used their own cars and park them outside of their targets? And are you a high profile government worker that they would put a bomb in your car?

  1. Terrorists often target the vehicles of targets, or their neighbours.

  2. Targets may be so-called legitimate targets, members of the security forces and their families, suppliers to those same forces, politicians and members of other communities or critics among others.

  3. Although PIRA are now part of the 'peace process' some breakaway elements continue their evil activities, so enough said.

Terrible! And all that, for what? How completely blind is such vengeance.
