I'm just not ready to call the EP "evil and vile"- it seems a bit harsh. His decisions and statements may be misguided, off kilter, moronic, un-Orthodox or any number of things....but I usually reserve "evil and vile" for those like Stalin or Hitler.

"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." (Matt. 10:28 KJV)
The enemies of Christ who appear without any mask - the atheists, the facists, the communists - cannot fool anyone. They are the ones who can kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But the others - "Orthodox" patriarchs, bishops and archbishops, leaders of Christian organizations, "theologians" and professors of theology - all who speak of and commune with heresy, all of these pretenders may not be killing the body, but they are surely killing the soul.
The most tragic thing is that evil appears to men’s eyes as something good, or if not good, certainly nothing compared to The Third Reich or Stalin, right? But true evil is not some physical destruction or "them which can only kill the body". Actually the death of the body would be a very small evil for humanity these days. It is that which is perpetrated by people like Bartholomew which is unimaginably more harsh and inhuman than anything Hitler may have devised. It is a masterpiece of diabolic imagination, a great hoax. The destruction towards which these men lead the Orthodox has the appearance of a great success. It would seem to many that they are being shepherded toward love and peace. But this is the peace of a corpse.
