Writing to a geronda

Post by Distressed Orthodox »

I am writing to a geronda on Athos. I wanted to find out the proper "protocol." Should I address it as Geronda or Igumenos (I've never heard igumenos used, but was told it means "abbot"). Thank you.

If you know the address of a genuine clairvoyant elder from Athos, let me know. I am not interested in Ephraim in Arizona. Thank you.

An elder or eldress is a good person to contact and obedience saves, but remember those who have reached dispassion and illumination make mistakes sometimes as well. No one is perfect or infallible.
