Post by romaric »

Good evening,
Doeus anyone has information about the RTOC of Met. Vyacheslav? Are they serious, or is it an other vagans group?
Thanks.

That sounds intriguing@ - where did you hear of such a personage?
I think it's wise that Archbishop Tikhon does not garner for himself the title of Metropolitan.
So who could this be?!

Oh well, another one bites the dust … that group is one of these pseudo jurisdictions that have sprung out in the Russian Federation during the last 20 some years. Since it is VERY difficult to discern who is canonical and who is not, given the fact that the Soviet government almost completely annihilated the episcopate, clergy, monastics and faithful of the Catacomb Church (whatever was left/survived the purges), we should all take the credibility of these groups with plenty of salt and lots of patience. It is known that the lasts “real” bishops of the Catacomb Church passed away in the 60s and 70s, while some of their clergy and monastics lived up to the 80s. ONLY an All Russian Council of the Church of Russia could solve all the issues, problems and divisions that have taken place since the fall over Russia of the dark shadow of atheism.

Kibyhetz,

Since the only way an ALL Russian Council will happen is when the MP will be in charge, it doesn't seem like other voices will be allowed to speak. But, there are those who do not agree with the MP and therefore, they will be considered invalid. But, there are those who are upholding the Orthodox faith that does not conform to the MP, and that is Archbishop Tikhon of Omsk and Siberia.

And point and fact, for others to understand, is that Vladika Tikhon does not seek a position of power. So, no. He doesn't consider himself a Metropolitan. Perhaps intrigue of politics should be left to the rats that live it...but I don't think it does any good here.

The need of a “Vse Rossiiskii Zemskii Sobor” (literally, Council/Assembly of all the Land of Russia) is long overdue. Verily, the fact that the current rulers in the Russian Federation are crypto communists (some of them are quite open about it), and that the hierarchy of the Moscow Patriarchate to its totality is composed of heresiarchs and/or collaborators of the previous regime, doesn’t help the situation at all, as it doesn’t help that the other parts of the Church of Russia are so divided and that there is not a clear figure head nor a solid, canonical synod of bishops (they keep dividing among themselves and growing like weeds in a garden).

I didn’t mention Archbishop Tixon, but since his persona has been brought to this topic, I will just add that, in my opinion (having lived through the process), the separation from the synod under Metropolitan Vitalii and the creation of the RTOC was absolutely unnecessary and like the other divisions that have occurred in the last decade, completely lacking in reason and canonicity. I was quite disappointed to see Archbishops Lazar and Veniamin fall under the influence of the Alferov brothers (who at this moment have shown their true colors) and leave the ROCA in order to create yet another jurisdiction. Whether Archbishop Tixon is good or not, I cannot tell, since I personally do not know him, nor do I know the new bishops he has in his synod. All I can tell is that the facts they used to separate themselves from Vladika Vitalii were bogus and superfluous.

I think that he was in FROC/ROAC as a clergyman but he was defrocked many years ago and join to a "Catacomb" Group with "Apostolic Succession" from one of Ukrainian groups (i Think under "Patriarch" Dimitry, now under "Metropolitan" Mefody)
