It is exactly where you found it.
This site is too prejudiced for a beginner.

Hear, hear!
People on this forum could be the Pied Piper for all you know. Don't take any advice given on this forum too seriously. You said you felt God led you to the Church you are in now - that sounds sane, logical and practical. Taking advice from someone on the Internet on the other hand.... People on this forum have very varied ideas - can you really put your trust in people who you know absolutely nothing about?
While I certainly agree that visitors to this site need to think carefully about any posted advice, including the two "advice" posts by Liudmilla and Helen preceding this one, I also believe that there is a great deal of honest, useful information about modern Orthodoxy posted here. Many of the posts include important references to Patristics and Church canons, and have been submitted by people with many years of experience as Orthodox Christians in various jurisdictions. The quality information here is especially important--for "beginners" and others--during this modern era of Church history, when there has been so much public disinformazia within the KGB hierarchies and official sites of the Moscow Patriarchate and its affiliates, in particular. People, including "beginners" need to know that the current hierarchs of the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church are KGB appointees and agents who have just completed a successful policy initiative to inflitrate and takeover the ROCOR parishes around the world. They should also know that some of the posters on this site, and elsewhere, are secretly working for the KGB/ FSB to suppress public awareness of what is happening in the MP (and ROCOR-MP) throughout the world today.

My advice is to try to learn as much as you can about Orthodoxy, and about what is happening in the Orthodox Churches today; to study and think carefully about the available information, realizing that some information is true, and some is certainly misleading and false. At the same time, it is important to have a trustworthy Orthodox Spiritual Father (or Mother), and a confessor. Be aware, however, that some modern "Orthodox" clergy are Pied Pipers, wolves in sheep's clothing. "By their fruits ye shall know them," for a bad tree cannot "bring forth good fruit." The "good shepherd" loves and cares for his flock, and leaves the 99 to find even one lost sheep," regardless of national, ethnic, or worldly, political agendas.
Thank you all for your honesty and candidness, and for taking the time to answer me.
The biblical injunction to asses the fruits rather than merely the claims of people, is of course, sound gospel advice.
i am absolutely certain that seeing the loving hard work and care of our Archpriest, his gentleness and willingness to spend time nuturing a newbie like me, that all the fruit is there. Our parish is a very conservative one which upholds (in my humble opinion) all the doctrines and the mindset of Orthodoxy. It is not a 'liberal' parish, nor is it pro-ecumenical with regard to the WCC (an organization I mistrust on both principle and issues of dogma). It has attracted many that have fled the incursions of modernisaton into the Church.
In my previous 'life' I was an Evangelical theologian, I have seen much of the rot that is in the West from the inside, I know what it looks and smells like, and I am wary lest I find it elsewhere.
Once again I thank you all for your words and encouragement.

I would not presume to judge your Archpriest, but you should know that the Moscow Patriarchate--of which the ROCOR is formally a subordinate part since May 17, 2007-- has been very active in the WCC for decades. The active involvement of the MP in the WCC has long been part of a Soviet initiative to suppress any world criticism or awareness of the terrible persecution of the Orthodox Church by the Soviet government. This grim history is very well documented in The Sword and the Shield, the definitive, scholarly summary of the Mitrokhin KGB archives published at Cambridge University in 1999. You may want to ask your priest if the MP-ROCOR is currently active in the WCC, and if the MP has been active in the ecumenical WCC during the past several decades. Compare his response with what you can read in The Sword and the Shield to see if he is telling you the truth.
Diomid of Chukotka could be deposed. His fate is being examined today by the MP.
