Home school or government school?

Post by Sean »

This is an email that Despota forwarded to me:

A request for information to help someone decide whether to home school
or send their child to public school was forwarded to me. I replied
and the links and information are so important that I decided that I
should share this with as many as possible

Subject: Reply to James/ Ikobus RE: Home Schooling

Dear James,

Greetings in the Lord.

Only you the parent can make this decision. The socialization issue is
nonsense. Any parent can substitute some other venue for sufficient
interaction. Go to a public high school and listed to the vulgar language
and behavior. Children in middle schools are imitating Bill Clinton and
Monica Lewinsky. Is that socialization?
Not all parents can homeschool, but whether your child is in public
school or home school you should know the issues in order to protect your
child.
Schooling is not to educate or socialize, it is to homogenize your
child to become a citizen of the world. Unesco sets the curriculum in a
much more profound way than most people realize.
Most teachers are very well meaning, but policy comes from above and
the policy makers do not have the child's best interest in mind.
If you want to read about the real agenda.
Read this interview first:

then:
Chapter 14 of "The Underground History of American Education" by John
Taylor Gatto

Then:
The Preface to "The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America" by Charlotte
Iserbyt

If you choose to home school, one curriculum that homeschoolers that I
know thing very highly of that teaches the child to learn on their own:

Also, look up Charlotte Mason and her Narration Method for reading and
comprehension.
A good introduction to the concept is at:

You can get books at the library on this or resources on line before
you spend any money.

May God guide you.

I wouldn't send my kids to government schools. I rather they be illiterate. Because in their illiteracy of the world, they would be literate in God. I went to public school. They are way too worldly, and the worliness is accepted as normal.

Speaking of worldliness, I see this website follows worldy patters. For example, the emoticons [faces]. There is even an emoticon of "MAD" or anger. This is not good because the Holy Fathers teach that anger is a passion. Why glorify and even give attention to this passion? Why augment or give the invitation to people to have this sin here? This is what I mean by accepting worldy ways. And people like me who speak against this are considered strange or disruptive. This only shows how innundated the churches are with the spirit of this age and the world.

I don't believe Christians should use the internet. It pulsates with the heart-beat of the world and worldly ways. We should only use it to promote the Kingdom of God. I don't even believe Christians should use forums and chat rooms because as the Book of Proverbs says, in much speaking there is sin. And silence is a virtue, and the mystery of the future age. And for these reasons, I am leaving this website. Why talk so much? Why do people feel they need to always be talking? Why not pray or read? Only you can answer these questions. Many "Orthodox" people think they can do no wrong. So I have no doubt that the moderators here will think the little "mad" emoticon is funny, cute and that I am nutts. This only shows how worldly "Christians" are becoming today; and it breaks my heart.

  1. Do you actually have any children?
    1. No one is promoting madness, anger or passion here. Most likely few people even noticed the emoticon until you pointed it out. No one has to use it and most here practise self-control in their use of emoticons.
    2. The emoticons come with the PHP forum software and some of them are useful.
    3. There is a correct use of anger.
    4. Most members here are not overly talkative, so why all the accusations?
    5. Silence is a virtue, but words should be used wisely. Sean has started a worthwhile topic. If anyone has edifying input on the subject they should post it here. Otherwise silence, (not posting) is the correct response in this thread.

Sean,

I haven't read through everything, but did Quigley ever make a statement of the teachings of evolution in the school curriculum? If he did, I'd much appreciate the reference. Perhaps it's in one of your posts here, but I haven't had the chance to view them yet.

In Christ,

Joanna

Whether to Homeschool

Post by Ioanna Eugenia Phillips »

Here in the United States homeschooling laws varies. While living in Massachusetts. Every year we had send a letter of intent. This year we had to give information regarding our education.

The thought of homeschool parents is raising our children in a christian environment and to include in our teachings of our church's faith.

We now reside in Texas and it is wonderful, it is a state that believes and supports christianity.

In Christ,
