Praise for the traitor.

Post by GOCTheophan »

It's interesting and significant how different bishops react to the death of
Metropolitan Laurus. Of course, we would expect the MP and ROCOR-MP to praise
him. But the Agathangelites and Cyprianites?

An anonymous writer for Magerovsky's "Live Journal" writes
(http://elmager.livejournal.com/212773.html
(http://elmager.livejournal.com/212773.html) ):
"It has emerged that Agathangelus Pashkovsky has trumpeted the following to the
whole world: "As regards Vladyka Laurus, he, according to my understanding,
was the last truly authoritative bishop in ROCOR. There very much was
sustained on his authority. I think that with his death the end of ROCOR has
(now
really) come, and one more page in the history of our Church has been turned.
He was a real monk and a real hierarch. Give peace, O Lord, to his soul in the
habitations of the righteous."

"It has emerged that another participant in this play has also reacted: 'We
deeply sorrow over the death of the worthily most blessed Metropolitan Laurus
and ardently pray for the salvation of his soul. + Bishop George, President
of the Alania diocese with his clergy and flock."

Amazing! Metropolitan Laurus leads ROCOR into union with the MP and World
Orthodoxy, thus subjecting himself and his flock to very many of the anathemas
of the Ecumenical Councils, not to mention ROCOR's own anathema of 1983. And
yet the supposed champions of Church truth against the betrayal of the Judas
Laurus praise him to the skies! He is "a real monk and a real hierarch",
"worthily most blessed"!

It is one thing to refrain in a gentlemanly manner from cursing the heretic
when he is dead - although the Holy Fathers, not being gentlemen, did
precisely that for very many dead heretics. It is quite another to praise him to
the
skies!

Conclusion: Bishop Agathangelus and his colleague the Cyprianite Bishop
George of Alania, are NOT True Orthodox! And if the other Agathangelite and
Cyprianite do not dissociate themselves from these completely unacceptable
praises
for the greatest traitor to Orthodoxy in recent times, they, too, must be
considered to be not True Orthodox.

Vladimir Moss has never been a champion of the Orthodox church, much less the Russian one regardless of affiliation. It is interesting that you put so much stock in his venom.

It occurs to me that this is nothing more even more of the hate theology that is being spouted by some who claim to be Orthodox.

Of course! How could it be otherwise? It's simple really - black and white .

Sarcasm aside, this type of interpretation of events is true Donatism.

Personally, I think it is very commendable that they have written such a nice commentary even though they were against unification. It shows that they do not have a malicious, cruel and unforgiving spirit dictated by 'Political correctness' and an adherence to the 'Letter of the Law'. It shows that they have not cast aside and value common human courtesy and decency. And even though use of the word 'love' may scandalize and shock some of you - yes, it shows they have love and respect towards others in spite of their differences.

Glory be to God!
