There is something to be said about people who post here, that make political statements with the flag of Orthodoxy and seem aloof about their identity. It looks and feels like a farce.

Evfimy only argues. He makes comments of complaint. Actually, he reminds me of jewish mothers....Whaatt, you don't call anymore?(add bronx jewish accent).

So why don't I just order my coffin now? (add bronx jewish accent)

The fact is, that even if we don't meet in person, we get to understand a person from the way they write. It may be electronically, but it's still writing. And writing is a form of communication, whether on paper or on a website. Emotions can still be experienced from someone's written words.

Evfimy...do you think that we can't sense your confusion and frustrations? You obviously have many doubts about Orthodoxy.

But, you can at least show some respect to those who take their time to post.

All I've seen from you is judgement, condesending remarks and lots of anger.

As far as I'm concerned, you have not contributed anything to a conversation that would be considered beneficial to the topic.

I hate listening to whiny people.

GET OVER IT AND MOVE ON.

We ALL know what ecumenism is about. It's been talked to death here. Can we have some spiritually enlightening conversations?
Or are you even Orthodox?

ROCOR΄S ANATHEMA :

Those who attack the Church of Christ by teaching that Christ's Church is divided into so-called "branches" which differ in doctrine and way of life, or that the Church does not exist visibly, but will be formed in the future when all "branches" or sects or denominations, and even religions will be united into one body; and who do not distinguish the priesthood and mysteries of the Church from those of the heretics, but say that the baptism and eucharist of heretics is effectual for salvation; therefore, to those who knowingly have communion with these aforementioned heretics or who advocate, disseminate, or defend their new heresy of Ecumenism under the pretext of brotherly love or the supposed unification of separated Christians, Anathema!

When the World Council of Churches was officially founded in 1948, the Moscow Patriarchate convened a Pan-Orthodox Council that categorically rejected ecumenism and stated that participation in the WCC was incompatible with Orthodox ecclesiology.

The Moscow Patriarchate later joined the WCC in 1961!!!

Now with this Union between the two Churches, ROCOR’S Anathema extends to ROCOR’S clergy and laity as well, since Patriarchate of Moscow is still a member of WCC!!!!!!!!!!

Joasia, you will find most (if not all) my "critical" responses were direct results of accusations and negative comments about virtually everything I say. Sliver and myself were both wrongly attacked, and the whole attack was a total red herring. It had absolutely nothing to do with the thread/subject material.

Not only was our attacker wrong by accusing us of not giving our names (Silver is his name, Evfimy is mine), but it had absolutely no bearing on the topic. She was wrong on both counts.

Silver is entitled to say what he wants. But some people have control issues going on. Feistiness is common not only among Orthodox people today, but also among protestants, Roman Catholics and evangelical heretics.

I was not referring to Silver when I spoke of the feistiness. I was referring to our attackers.
