What are you talking about? He took suspended priests from the Synod of Met. Cyprian (while I don't like the Cyprianites at the same time these priests were suspended with good and valid reason) and reordained them and gave them parishes!

Look I dont think much at all about Gregory of Colorado. He was defrocked by what I consider the legitimate Greek Orthodox Church in America. He attacks holy people such as St Augustine, Archbishop Matthew of Blessed Memory and Fr Seraphim Rose in a vicous tabloid manner. I think he is sincere though, sincerely deluded yes, but sincere. We only have the Kyprianite side of the story and the fact that they are now using Nathanael as their unoffical spokesman says something.

The real question is why havent the GOC CII or the Matthewites done anything at all to expose Kyprian's Synod in Africa? Also were these people suspended for reasons of the Faith (you only have to read up about the 7 th Ecumenical Council and the 15 th canon of the 1 st and 2 nd council of Constaninople to know that Kyprianism is just plain unPatristic)?

The amount of missionary work done by the legtimate Greek Old Calendarists and ROCiE, ROAC, etc is well- not very impressive at all.

Theophan.

Umm..

Maybe it might be best to split this thread seeing as how we have totally gotten off on a rabbit trail....

Just a thought.

I have done that and combined all the threads on what is wrong with Archbishop Gregory, and all the threads on what is wrong with Metropolitan Cyprian and his Synod in Resistance.

Hi, I'm just a simple uneducated layman and I can only give my own testimony. Archbishop Gregory has always been extremely kind and tolerant of me. I have know him, and those with him, since 1993. Vladika Gregory payed for my chiropractic expenses when I visited them and never asked for one penny back. He is the real thing people. He loves Orthodoxy and the truth. Those who attack him do so because they do not love the Church. They love this world and the spirit of compromise, and the spirit of gossip. They often take things out of context and run with this information as if it were the gospel truth.

As for Nathanial, he is not a "brother." He's not even a monk. Take your rassa off Nathaniel. Stop mocking Orthodoxy on the streets as you dance to rock music with your white gloves. Stop blessing people as if you were a priest. I can't believe anyone even takes him seriously. I have heard stories about this guy that I will not repeat because I don't gossip. Sorry

No he was not defrocked! This is what I'm talking about. He was uncanonically excommunicated by the papal-minded Metro-Valentine. Get your facts straight. There is a difference between excommunication (and illegal at that) and defrockment.

As I said, I have visited a few monasteries and been Orthodox since 1992. In terms of love for the Church, canonicity, faithfulness to tradition, and love for God and man, Archbishop Gregory is the best I have seen. Trust me.

And, my dear Euthymios, there are others who, while living in Colorado, visiting and partaking at the Monastery, being baptized by the "Archbishop" himself, and seeing the way he treats laypeople and priests, Metropolitans and others, can say with just as much certainty, that the things you say, while they might be true, there is a whole different side to this Gregory of Colorado.

I have already said too much.

However, when the things one tells his confessor in private, thinking that these things are held sacred, and then later learns that his confession has become topical conversation for the dinner table, one is fearful of not only confession as a whole but the "Archbishop" who offers the remission.
