This whole business with Pimen Simon and Bishop Daniel should be concerning to any Orthodox Christian who respects the canons and authority of a rightly-annointed Bishop. If Bishop Daniel declared himself opposed to the MP, why has he not been permitted to speak? And why are the pro-unionist in the ROCOR-Laurus pretending that it is acceptable to keep him confined in Pimen's home, and that he is disabled? My guess is that they are drugging him--treating him like a political "patient" at Lubyanka...

"The Synod of Metropolitan Cyprian adheres wholly to the exact same ecclesiological and dogmatic principles as our Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia,"
The Cyprianite Basics
Dear Stephen G:
The Cyprianites or Florinites as some like to use the term are Old Calendarists whose Primate is Metropolitan Cyprian of Oropos and Fili in Greece. They are currently in union with the Old Calendar Churches of Romanian and Bulgaria. The one thing that differentiates this Synod of Resistance from other Old Calendarists is that they have not declared the New Calendarist Churches are without Grace. They have yet to make a formal declaration that followers of Ecumenism are schismatics/heretics.

Unity With Whom?
Christophoros writes: "Every schism fabricates a heresy for itself to justify its withdrawl from the Church"... If these individuals wish to be the "standards of Orthodoxy" that they pretend to be, perhaps they should first practice basic Christian charity towards their own brethren, repent, and unify..."
Christophoros,
Code: Select all
Let me clarify what you mean by this. How am I, as an Orthodox Christian, supposed to "repent and unify" with the Roman Catholic Church? What sin have I committed against our Catholic brethren for which I need to repent? I have not slandered them, although I do believe that they are in error by the standards and canons of the Holy Church. Furthermore, how am I to "repent and unify" with the Moscow Patriarchate? Their hierarchs have been appointed by the Soviet state, and labored for years to suppress information and condemnation about the persecution of the Holy Church by the Soviet state in international ecumenical organizations like the WCC. How have I, as a member of the ROCOR, sinned against the Moscow Patriarchate? We need to be clear, when we speak of "repentance and unification," who has sinned against Christ and the Holy Church, and who has rightly confessed Christ. "Unity" is not, necessarily, something holy. Hitler and Mussolini had "unity," as did the Roman Catholic Popes and the duplicate Latin Patriarchs of Jerusalem and Antioch appointed during the Crusades.
