Milan Synod

Post by EX-heretic »

Hi all. This is my first post.

Some personal info: I am converting to the Church of Christ from Sedevacantist/Conclavist Roman Catholicism. I believe that Assisi is the clearest possible manifestation that the Ecumenical Patriarch is not so much a heretic or schismatic but a complete apostate, that is, that he has abandoned the Christian religion wholesale. Same for the rest of the heirarchs of World Orthodoxy. I cannot be received into a parish that is in full communion with this godlessness. Right now I am investigating the various trad jurisdictions.

Anyways I am wondering about the Milan Synod. I havent seen them talked about on this forum and they are not on the forum's map of trad parishes. Why is this? Are they legit? Thanks for the help.

Hello, we talked some months ago about the Milan Synod. The bishop is mason (Euloge of Milan) and they issued an encyclic calling for communion with monophysites...

2 questions:

  1. what is this -- Sedevacantist/Conclavist Roman Catholicism.
  2. what happened at Assisi?

He is a Freemason? Do we have evidence?

What exactly did he say about the monophysites in the encyclical? He could have said that he wished for communion - in the sense that he wants us and the monos to be one Church again through their conversion to the true Church - and a rival synod could have misconstrued this to mean that he wants for intercommunion right now. Do you remember what the title of the encyclical was?

Thanks for the information.

"Sedevacant" is Latin for "the seat is vacant." Sedevacantist Roman Catholics believe that there has been no pope since Pius XII or John XXIII, or in other words, for the past 40 years. Conclavists believe that the remnant Church should hold a "conclave" to elect a pope as soon as possible. Some already have. These are called "sedeplentists" meaning that the seat is filled. There are around 15 claimants to the papal throne at the present moment. Some have a following of just a few people.

At Assisi all the false religions of the world - including Voodooism and Buddhism and Animism etc - gathered in Roman Catholic churches to pray together for world peace. (Of course Scripture teaches that the gods of the pagans are demons!) Bartholomew was there in person and was one of the leaders of the event. Two other patriarchs were there. And all the autocephelous churches were represented. See http://www.orthodoxinfo.com/ecumenism/a ... etter.aspx

No they are not legit. They are schismatic and possibily heretical in that it is unclear whether they hold what is called "Kyprianism" after the defrocked archimandrite (who was defrocked twice- once by the New Calendarists who he holds to be the Church, and once by the actual Greek Orthodox Church) which teaches that basically the Church no longer exists properly anymore in that She has no compentent authority left to expel heretics.

I am also an ex-Sede!

Personally I would recommend either the GOC-CII or the "Matthewites". The part of ROCOR that stayed true to Met Vitaly and Orthodoxy being another option. Be careful. Pray and read and pray more- things today are so confusing.

Theophan.

Well, I did not read the encyclical, but I know for sure that he concelebrated once with monophysites. Moreover, he used to be or is in communion with some parasynagogs in France that are actual sects.

Well, my suggestion would be to join GOC-CII or ROAC. To tell you the truth, I used to be in ROCIE and I am very worrry about things are going there.
